August 16, 201610 yr Yep, our luck has run out. Our luck has run out? Shoot just two years ago the Bengals were one of the most injured teams in football, and then last year we lose our starting QB who was playing at an MVP type level before the injury. So it seems to me our luck hasn't changed lol. As someone mentioned though the one good thing is, you would rather the injuries happen now and not during the season. Hopefully most of them are back by the start of the season though, because it is a tough 6 game stretch right out of the gate.

Last year was particularly injury free despite losing Dalton. It's a brutal game.
August 16, 201610 yr Burfict missed the first half of the season last year. The top teams in the NFL overcome injuries and still win. Next man in.
August 16, 201610 yr The problem is our receiving corps at TE and WR is just getting thin now. It seems to always happen in the same position groups with teams. With average or just above average receivers the Bengals will score that 20+ most games, which is their recipe for winning a lot of games. The defense is not a "shut you out" type of "D" but rather a make you earn your points with long drives. This makes teams become turnover free and more cautious, which is good for our offense. We will not win a lot of games scoring under 20. We need to have enough quality receivers to do that
August 16, 201610 yr Keep your QB upright and the Bengals will be fine. Same can be said for the team I follow.
August 17, 201610 yr The Bengals have been very lucky on the injury front. Last year was particularly injury free despite losing Dalton. It's a brutal game. Overall last year they didn't get to many hurt, but when the one who does get hurt is your starting qb. That is not lucky at all. Then the year before they were one of the teams who led the nfl with the amount of injuries they had. It was brutal in 2014.
August 17, 201610 yr Bengals will be lucky to go 8-8 to many injuries. Dude it's the pre season. Most of these guys are projected to be back to start the year. The two rookies who got hurt, it stinks for their development but doesn't hurt them to much overall.

I believe we disagreed on the importance of Marvin Jones as i thought that was a huge lost because finding a true number 2 is hard to do and he was that. Right now it's all question marks behind Green. They could end up being very good depending on how LaFell does and Boyd. However at this point it's hard to say they will until they all actually play together. I think we will see a mix of 2014 and 2015. 2014 we were the 6th best rushing offense in the nfl and did a lot more power running, which was why Hill looked great. All the injuries ar receiver that year made us a running team and still made the playoffs. Last year we were more of a gun spread team and pass the ball and why Gio thrived more, and they spread the ball around and put up a lot of points. I think we will see more of a mix between the two years this year. I think we will see a little bit more power running type plays like we saw in 2014, but also a good mix of gun spread type plays like last year.
