As everyone knows I am a big GRC supporter. I hate this for coach Humphrey and his family. Rumors of this has been swirling around Winchester for a month or so. My question is who will they get to replace him?

 

Are the players and parents responsible for his firing?

Being that it happened in the first week of school tells me it's not related to wins and losses.

 

School has not started yet in Clark Co, it starts next week.

Given he won three regional titles, it couldn't be lack of success. His won-loss record is fine. Is this another Notre Dame Academy volleyball drama, where parents control the coaching seat?

If it was swirling around that long GRC should've pulled the trigger sooner, in the interest of the program. I don't say that as a swipe against Humphrey, who I've always been friendly with over the years. Hate this for him, but it must have been something big.

I could see this happening.

I know Estill County won't play GRC because Coach Humphrey back in 06/07, had senior night the 2nd game into the season and it was against Estill. Estill took it as GRC wanted an Easy win against them.

On a serious note...Do Head Coaches get to handle the finances for their team? I just figured they had a totally separate person in charge of taking care of the money to avoid just such rumors.

I can't see which situation is the majority for sure, but I can tell you there's a very large chunk of coaches who handle the program's finances. Like if you made me guess, I'd say the majority of coaches handle the finances. And this wouldn't be the first time (this year) a coach was fired for mishandling finances.
