ThrillVille Cardinal51 Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Pretend you're wanting to go nuts and eat at your favorite breakfast, lunch and dinner place all in one day. My tentative perfect food day would look something like: 1. Breakfast, Highland Morning- Biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. On the way home, stop at Nord's bakery for a maple bacon donut. 2. Lunch, Chipotle- Barbacoa bowl with all the fixings. Obviously with a side of chips and guacamole. 3. Dinner, Four Pegs- toss up between the chicken waffle sandwich or the beer burger. Plus multiple craft beers. Finish off with a sundae from Graeters-black raspberry chip, black raspberry topping with the nuts, whipped cream and cherry. This is just my rough draft, but as of now I'll stand by my choices. What's your day look like?
rockmom Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 OK...this is completely knee-jerk, but I just fulfilled a dream of mine. :lol2: Since February, I've been eating an uber-healthy diet per doctor's orders. I've had some slip ups from time to time, but nothing TOO major...until today. I simply caved as I was driving down Broadway (not normally my route home, but traffic forced the issue). I swung into Chicken King and got myself a 3pc spicy dinner with green beans and wedges. OH.MY.GOD! I can die happy now. Chicken King....I love you!

Is it local? Chain? Have I not paid any attention? Spill it.
rockmom Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 OK, idiot time. Where and what is chicken king? Is it local? Chain? Have I not paid any attention? Spill it. It's a local chicken joint at Clay and East Broadway. It's my FAVORITE fried chicken in the city...maybe the world. I love their spicy fried chicken because it has just the right amount of spice. Not too much. Their sides are fantastic, and the wedges and chicken are always crispy and never greasy. Oh...and their banana pudding kicks butt too.
spindoc Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Oh, I gotta try that. Im not on some diet. When I learned that I'll inherit a new body, I became bound and determined to come slidin' this one in sideways at the finish line.
Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 I'm gonna have to think on this one. I'm assuming we're going with reasonable-ish responses? No "Jeff Ruby ribeye for breakfast, Ruth's Chris porterhouse for lunch, Jeff Ruby filet for dinner" type answers?
spindoc Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 I'll go sort of off script because some of it ain't possible. Breakfast, I'd take my dad's scratch cat heads with his homemade gravy and fried potatoes along with some fried eggs over easy and sausage links. Lunch, I'd take a Primanti Bros Pittsburger and fries. Dinner, no question, my mother in law's fried chicken, my mother's scalloped potatoes, green beans fresh out of the garden. Then a long nap.

Eat that and I've got a brand new level of respect for you.

Was in Pittsburgh in December for a Sunday night game and tried Primanti Bros, no one in our group found it to be as great as we had hoped.
