Yeah, because the US media goes out of its way to have a strong foreign correspondents department these days. World news is almost nonexistent in US media these days. Americans don't care what happens beyond their immediate surroundings, and US media companies have responded accordingly by shutting down their foreign bureaus. Now I have to go to the BBC and AP for world news.

We have a migration issue in this hemisphere that needs more than walls built. Local historians can correct me but didn't we have something called the Monroe Doctrine that asserted our leadership of this hemisphere.

Mexico NEEDS this wall. Their economy is no where near as strong as ours and they have had to default twice as a country in the last 60 years or so. If Mexico collapses again, you don't even want to imagine what our border will look like.

The media runs the way people view things. If the media is saying it and convincing people it's the way, then it usually happens.

The thread title is wrong. Mexico is not calling for a southern wall to be built. One newspaper's editorial board is advocating such, according to Breitbart.
