formerkywrestler Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Yes, Gary Johnson Could Make It Into the Debates. Here's How. - Reason.com *fingers crossed*
75center Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I'm torn. I will be voting third party so that aspect would be awesome. On the other hand a Don vs Hillary slugfest with no buffer would be better than WWE. And free to boot!
Habib Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 The debate commission is "bi-partisan" by nature, and thus strongly in favor or protecting the two-party stranglehold on our democracy. Even if Johnson was polling above 15% they could always move the goalposts. However, with this being such an odd election year and with dissension within each party they might be less likely to protect their candidates. There is also another caveat: The candidates each negotiate the debate setup and can easily refuse the inclusion of a third-party participant, especially if both candidates are in agreement. The CPD is not a bulwark.
All Tell Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I think he will be at the debates. I don't think Hillary will debate.

On the other hand a Don vs Hillary slugfest with no buffer would be better than WWE. And free to boot! I concur. However, if Johnson's on stage it will likely be a two on one handicap match because Gary struggles to say anything negative at all about Hillary but is very quick to criticize Trump. William Weld, his running mate, admitted top being a long-time friend of Hillary. I certainly hope Johnson is included in the debates. However, like you said Trump v. Hil could be the most contentious contest since Hamilton-Burr.

Science Friction Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Friendships turn ugly quickly just over a year ago Trump and the Clintons were pretty tight. True. I even heard that Ivanka and Chelsea were almost like best friends. Wonder how that works out now?
plantmanky Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Is this guy even running? I have heard nothing from him expect for you guys on bgp bringing his name up. Youd think if he was actually runing hed be getting his name out they ao people knew.

It's more than likely that the Trumps and the Clintons are still good friends and laughing at the rest of the country for taking politics as personally as they do.

Jesse James Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 A vote for Johnson is a vote for Clinton. Say what you will but this is the bottom line.
LIPTON BASH Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I'm voting for Johnson. If he makes the debates I hope they got him some good debate prep coaches . He is not very good. I feel like they should give me a call.
Getslow Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I hope both he and Jill Stein can find their way into at least one of them. I'm not counting on it, though.
swamprat Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 A vote for Johnson is a vote for Clinton. Say what you will but this is the bottom line. When you are always voting for the lesser of 2 evils, that will always be your choices. I refuse to do that. I don't like either candidate from the major parties. IMHO, neither is good for this country. I either vote for somebody else or do not participate in our republic. I choose somebody else.
