What is your favorite donut?

This thread makes me miss both Manyet's in Newport and Wiedemann's in Ft. Thomas! Manyet's had radio rolls that were to die for and every year, my mom got me an orange chiffon cake from Wiedemann's for my birthday. I miss both so much!

My favorites doughnuts are chocolate or white long johns!

I hate any type of cream or jelly filled doughnuts! :yuck:

Miss Shirley's in A-town is da bomb!

Oh my goodness! You are the first person that I have heard mention that cake. My mawmaw made that cake from scratch for my pawpaw. It was his favorite cake that she made. I miss them both terribly.

Bless your heart. Your mom seems to have left a wonderful legacy of love. That's the greatest thing any of us can do.

Gimme a Yum-Yum from Hadorn's in Bardstown.

My cousin once said he got a Yum-Yum from a place called the Fuji Health Studio. I figured it must be some kind of healthy type of donut. Probably not the same donut that you are speaking of.

Plain glazed or lemon-filled from Creekside Country Store. Think Krispy Kremes on steroids and tastier.

I would love to find a really good cinnamon twist donut. It was a favorite at mine at the Clovertop in Corbin growing up. Mondelli's in Lexington made a good one when I went there back around 2000-2002.

Cinnamon twist with glaze, the chocolate and white icing. Decidedly NOT healthy.

White long johns from Country Cousins in Alexandria hands down best I've ever had.

Love that icing on the cream filled.

Hey, I like cinnamon twist as well! Who knew!!

Mrs. Parker made some homemade doughnuts tonight. The one I had was glazed with chocolate icing and was excellent.

The Cream filled long John from Snow Donuts in Maysville are legit.

As @lawildcat mentioned, I miss Weidman's as well. Dad would bring some home for work about once a week.

If I was up where I grew up it would be a custard or lemon filled Polish pączki from Colozzas.

Here in Lexington it would be a fried apple fritter from Spaldings.
