Yep, you certainly missed this story. I remember watching on TV all those destructive (paid) Republican staffers wreaking havoc with the Bush-Gore vote recount in South Florida. I still get nervous every time I see a young person wearing a golf shirt with an alligator logo. Following explainer from Wiki:

For the results of this poll to have any validity, you'd need a mix of responses from both sides of the aisle. Republicans vastly outnumber democrats and libertarians combined on BGP.

Many forget what they wish to forget.

I'm assuming that most when looking at the race and gender demographic breakdown of the Republican and Democratic parties can plainly see that one is significantly top heavy as being white males, while the other is race and gender diverse, which would also include white males.

 

With this being the case one party with its lack of diversity has a more closer cultural assimilation to each other, while the other's diversity draws from a varied pool meaning that the lesser diverse party has the tendency to appear and be represented by a more specific type, while the other has a widely varied range that can't exactly be represented and described in as much as a broad stroke as the other.

 

With that, not everyone within the more diverse party identifies with nearly as much cultural assimilation with each other as the less diverse party.

 

To group the more diverse party with a label of being "liberal" with the intent to paint them as "all the same" would be a distortion of reality, and a misrepresentation of its diversity.

 

Though neither party is completely free of extreme radicals that may act out in unfavorable ways, the diverse party, drawing from a more varied pool, is more likely to have larger numbers of extremes who would act out in ways that do not represent the larger group as a whole than the less diverse group.

 

This is not to say that one party is better than the other, or that its diversity or lack there of instantly proves anything, but it's sorta apples and oranges to broad stroke one group without taking into consideration its diverse demographic breakdown.

 

It would be idealistic to think that we as a nation will ever completely be on the same page regarding politics, but it's more likely that the less diverse group can be more so with each other than the more diverse group is with each other considering its vast variation, so though it's not exactly fair to anyone within either party to bunch all together in an attempt to define them, the less diverse group would be more easily definable than the more diverse group.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say libs in Cleveland. I hope I'm wrong but recent history makes them the clear leader.
