Disagree because ultimately the money is coming from price gouging.

And I came across this definition of Price Gouging thanks to Wikipedia and Google and I am owning my part of the definition.

Price gouging is a pejorative term referring to when a seller spikes the prices of goods, services or commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair, and is considered exploitative, potentially to an unethical extent.

Product is worth what someone is willing to pay. Unless someone is lying to the public you are using the wrong term.

I fall in your camp. If they want to charge $10 - $15 for a terrible game and people line up to see it, who is at fault? I am NO FAN of the organizer of this event, not by a long shot, but if people are willing to pay for these games, so be it. If I decide to drive 30-40 minutes to the Mount to watch the Colonels plays Oak Hills, and spend $50 bucks for the night with concessions for my traveling party, how is it anyone's fault but mine? I wouldn't go to half those games for free, and going to some of the other half will have nothing to do with the cost of admission.

Again, I'm not a fan of the organizer of this, but if he keeps charging "X" to get in, and people keep paying it knowing what they are getting (Team Y vs Team Z at Field W), this isn't on him.

This used to be a good event at Nippert with interesting matchups. I used to go and stay all day. This is a big nothing in my opinion.

Couldn't agree more....especially when it's a district match up played at one of the teams' home field.

e.g. - Walton-Verona @ Lloyd

Try not to let facts get in the way of a misguided opinion, but Walton-Verona and Lloyd are not district opponents. You have a program that didn't exist and another on life support ten years ago, who have developed a competitive and meaningful rivalry over the past few years. Both get to participate in an exciting early season event with the possibility of being televised on one of the local cable channels, which I'd guess has not happened for either school. I'd say it's a neat opportunity for Lloyd and WV, and before moderators question to motives of the two, at least get your facts straight.

I do think CCH/Oak Hills is an interesting matchup. Anyone remember what happened when they played at Riverfront?

CovCath beat the Highlanders at Riverfront. The next year, the Colonels were only down 4 in the 4th quarter to really strong Massilon Washington team before the Tigers pulled away.

The Colerain/Warren Central and St. John Bosco/St. Xavier both look to be entertaining games.

I was there for both games, thanks. :thumb:

I would like to sit down with some working class families from Elsmere that have a son playing for Lloyd. You know, families that are OBLIGATED to come to the games.

It's price gouging and I believe it is unethical.

Then complain to the school or coach . No school is obligated to participate.

I do think the event would be better if it were actually Cincy vs KY

They read BGP.

I glanced at the schedule, but obviously didn't look close enough. Those are both good games.

I agree, putting these kinds of games together and charging a premium is perfectly acceptable and a great thing.

I loved going to the Buddy LaRosa event, I believe it only lasted two years.

Then that's on Lloyd for agreeing.
