Good one! I'm still laughing (even though it shouldn't be funny). Unfortunately we have people who will never believe that racial biased doesn't exist because they want to wipe or ignore the fact that it still does. I'm beginning to think some of these people could watch the movie Roots and say violence against blacks is justified or statistically slaves attacked slave owners more than slave owners attacked slaves. Statistics are only as good as the data collected and data can be manipulated very easily. To this point I could care less about how much who did what to who how many times. One time is too much either way. Sweeping it under the rug and calling it a myth from statistical gathering is actual comical in itself. It's taken over 150 years to get this point. So maybe another 150 will do the job.

It said the time frame was 2000-2015. I'd say it's a decent amount of total shootings over that period.

I can't even watch Roots. I watched about 10 minutes and couldn't do it. Talk about messing with emotions. As a kid I watched the original it the reboot I only saw the seen where Chicken George was lost in a bet over a chicken fight. Couldn't do it. Had to change the channel.

By all means, when the numbers and stats are presented what exactly should I say at this point? I mean, statistics show racial bias doesn't exist and that black people have made it up so please, let me know what the correct thing for me to say is at this point. It's clear that nothing else that I have said makes the slightest difference in this discussion at all. Screw it. There has never ever ever been a racist moment by the cops and since Obama was voted POTUS that means racism doesn't exist anymore. Isn't that what people want us to say at this point? We spend days upon days trying to make headway on this division in our country but the stats say there is no racial bias and we all know the stats don't lie. What am I supposed to say at this point? I can't fight against these facts and I didn't finish college so this cat from Harvard wins. No racial bias anywhere. I'm grateful for all of his hard research to prove that racial bias is a myth and now I can head in to work and apologize to all my fine coworkers who have been trying to tell me in their Facebook posts how blacks are the real racists because we make stuff up that the numbers don't support. I sure hope they let me keep my job. I have a family to feed. I won't cause anymore trouble. I promise. :thumb:

So now a Harvard study is to be disbelieved by some because they see things differently.

Did someone involved in this thread dismiss a study in the past only because it came from an ivy leaguer? If not, how is it relevant to this discussion? Who cares if a random person disagreed with a study in the past? How does that dispute this study?

Did I misread it that he found bias in use of force incidents? I really don't get how you leapt to the conclusions you did. He went in expecting to see bias in the shootings and didn't get it, which surprised him. That's all he's saying.

Perhaps because he really went in expecting to see racial bias in the shootings and didn't get it? He may have even wanted to find it given he's a black economics professor at Harvard, which if I had to guess, and it's only a guess, is that he's very liberal. He has published articles about finding racial bias in hiring and wages. Kind of lends support to his article.
