Gretchen Carlson sues FOX News' Roger Ailes

Gretchen Carlson sues Fox News for being a He-Man Woman-Haters Club

* Newswire

* The A.V. Club

In September 2015, Carlson says she convened a meeting with Ailes to try to put a stop to the harassment, only to be harassed further. “Ailes stated to Carlson: ‘I think you and I should have had a sexual relationship a long time ago and then you’d be good and better and I’d be good and better,’” reads the complaint. Carlson suspects the meeting, and her continued refusal to acquiesce to his sexual demands, led Ailes not to renew her contract when it expired late last month.

Pretty salacious allegations.

Here's a more in-depth story from politico. (Link at bottom.) What follows is the best part:

"On other occasions, the complaint alleges Ailes asked Carlson to "turn around so he could view her posterior, commented repeatedly about her legs, and instructed her to wear certain outfits that he claimed enhanced her figure.” Ailes also allegedly “directed sexist comments” about Carlson in public and announced to others at a industry event that “he had slept with three former Miss Americas, but not with her.”

If any word of this is true Ailes needs to be fired and Gretchen needs to get PAID

Judging by the title they chose, I think they are going for salacious.

It is the AV Club, an entertainment site.

I don't think she is suing Fox News. She is suing Ailes personally. Fox News not listed in suit.

Wasn't one of her cohosts also mentioned?

It has to be true because all of the women on Fox wears short dresses and skirts. I'm sure that is a must or they would not be working there. Never no pants.

Definitely seen Megyn Kelly wear slacks on her show--Disappointing, but true. :D

Was in the story I referenced.

It does appear that the AV Club's headline was misleading and the thread title should be changed to "Gretchen Carlson sues FOX News' Roger Ailes." From what else I've read, this has made the corporate bosses at FOX none too happy, and it might be an excuse for them to oust Ailes, especially if other allegations of this sort that are circulating around gain traction. It seems Murdoch's sons are looking for a reason, while their father is supportive of Ailes.

Yes. Steve Doocy.

Nothing could surprise me less than that.

That dude is just creepy

She is not accusing Doocy of sexually harassing her according to the first article...just not respecting her enough as a journalist. That is hard to prove. I watched that show when she was on it (and since) and I would not have guessed that she and he did not get along. In fact, I would have thought if she had a problem with either of the co-hosts, it would be Kilmeade. He seems like more of a smart aleck to me than Doocy. Doocy seems more vanilla to me.

She does say unflattering things about him.

Others have said Doocy made inappropriate comments:

....the piece also mentions a “notable lack of major Fox News anchors and talk-show stars … stepping forward” to defend the Fox head, quoting a former “Fox and Friends” staffer, “Everyone on staff knew about or saw” Steve Doocy “make inappropriate comments.”
