Alison Krauss & US with a great live rendition of one of her hits. If I had one wish it would be to have this lady sing me to sleep every night.

Love it! Just not in large doses; blame my dad for that, he would play the most twangy bluegrass he had whenever he was around me and would sing along as loudly as he could.:lol2:

Absolutely some of the most talented musicians ever to play an instrument!

The Sun Valley Music Festival is this Saturday, July 9 at AJ Jolly Park in Alexandria.

Here's the lineup.

2:15 Part-Time Gentlemen

3:30 Full Moon Ranch

4:45 Blue Belles

6:00 Hartstrings Bluegrass Band

6:45 KY Myle

8;00 The Empty Bottle String Band

9:15. William and Marteka

Sun Valley Bluegrass Festival will feature the region's best in Bluegrass! Some of the artists include Marteeka N William, Kentucky Bluebelles, Empty Bottle String Band, Local Honeys and Part time Gentleman. There will be food and drinks, including beer. Crafters and other vendors will be on site as well as kids activities. Bring your blanket, lawn chairs and or shade canopy. No outside coolers, food or drinks will be permitted. Campsites available for Friday and Saturday.

Freeborn Man was Jimmy Martin's signature song, but Josh Williams kills it.

I love good Bluegrass music. I've always been a fan of the sound of a mandolin.

This!!!

I just love Bluegrass and can listen to any band that is halfway decent.

The up tempo/pace of Bill Monroe drew me in, I loved the fast stuff when I was youbg.

Gospel Bluegrass is awesome as well and often finds its way on my play list when I'm working out in the pool.

I got a Grascals CD a few years ago and really like those guys. But the oldies are what I love.

As a teen, I couldn't stand Bluegrass. It must be an acquired taste, because I acquired it the more I listened. Bluegrass gospel is probably my favorite gospel. I could listen to a mandolin from dusk til dawn.

About the same with me, I saw live bluegrass as a kid more times than I can count...but had no appreciation for it then.
