Henry Clay 31 Pikeville 0

Featured Replies

Mayo DOES have a concussion. I heard about an hour ago that he was still in the hospital. This is his third concussion in one year. Prayers are with you John Micheal.

Great showing by the Panthers!! Henry Clay is the best team Pikeville will face all year, and we more than held our own. Not a big fan of this offense, though. Prayers go out for John Michael.

Coach Jackson beat many good teams while at Oldham (including a good LEX.CATH team) and will do the same just give him time.

I respect Coach J and support him 100% but ive never liked this offense.

Many prayers for John Michael and his family from us here in Pirate land. Hope everything is fine and he is back to 100% as quickly as possible.

Henry Clay is still one of the top teams in 4A.

No doubt.

John Michael definitely had a concussion last night. They kept him over night at Pikeville Medical Center and last I heard he was feeling better. The problem for the Panthers is that this is his third concussion in a year, so his football future is up in the air at this point. This is really sad to hear because of the promise he had as a player, with letters coming in from a few D1 schools showing serious interest. But at this point, football is secondary. My prayers are with John that he'll have a full recovery.

Sounds like Pikeville kept it respectable.

Congratulations to Henry Clay. How does this years HC team compare to last year?

Much smaller, much faster, much younger.

This team might be very good at the end of the season, but are just trying to figure themselves out right now.

I heard that Pikeville's senior QB/LB John Michael Mayo was done for the season...can anyone confirm this? I really hope this isn't the case but this kid has a bright future and with him having 3 concussions in the last year it is probably the correct call.

I heard the same thing. Bad for PHS football but still ok for the kid. 4.0 student who will still get a full ride to the university of his choice.

What I heard is hes out at least 6 weeks and if he returns then is up to him and his parents.
