Trump Voters : Can You Still Respect Yourself the Morning After ?

Featured Replies

Let me put it to you straight. Think about a time when you felt you really let yourself down. You did something that you knew deep down was wrong but you did it anyway. You put your self-respect in jeopardy and it took a hit. You know what a terrible feeling it is. I don't want this to happen to you Trumpeteers. I don't want you to hate yourself the morning after the election. I want you to be able to still respect yourself when you wake up Wednesday morning.

You have other options now besides the most unqualified human being to ever vie for the presidency. The Libertarian Party has a solid ticket of fiscal conservatives with tons of executive experience. You may even have another conservative option. If principle really matters to you, you can vote your conscience and principle and salvage your self-respect.

One of our friends on here was criticized awhile back for being willing to "waste" his vote on Gary Johnson, instead of voting for someone who could actually win. He responded with a rather profound statement to the effect that he could vote for Johnson and still maintain his self-respect and so how is that a waste. I agree.

At this point in time , I can still vote for either Clinton or Johnson and still go to sleep with the knowledge that I voted for someone who is capable of doing this job. Johnson I believe is a principled man with executive experience and Hillary is more than capable of holding her own with the toughest leaders of the world and she has the experience and qualifications that the job requires. At this point she has not been convicted of anything. Not one. If she is found guilty of serious crimes, then I will look even closer than I am already looking at the Johnson / Weld ticket. Moderate fiscal policy and liberal social agenda isn't exactly unappealing to me.

The only person I simply could not vote for and salvage my self-respect would be this Trump clown. I don't have to tell you that this carnival barker is totally and foolishly unqualified to be this country's chief executive.

I understand if you don't like Hillary or if you think she's too dishonest to be President. Hell, all politicians are dishonest. You really think Trump is any more honest than Hillary? The point is, you are not saddled with just this celebrity apprentice chump. You have other options- pretty darn good options at that. I want you to still respect yourself when you wake up the morning after the election. Hillary's the most qualified to be President but if you can't put your unabashed hatred for the Clinton's aside, cast your vote for Gary Johnson or this French fellow if he enters the race. Look at it this way. Regardless, you're going to be on the losing end but at least you will still respect yourself and you won't regret your vote two decades from now. My dad still regrets his vote for Nixon 56 years ago. Don't regret yours fifty years from now. Be able to look at your little children with tears in your eyes, knowing your vote was one based on principle and conscience and not on misplaced hatred of one woman.

Explain why a vote for Donald Trump is better than Gary Johnson. I can give you a thousand reasons why he's not. I mean, Trump is likely to win KY regardless of your vote. So, why not vote for the man you know is more qualified? Who knows, I may very well vote for him as well. You'll sleep better... :)

Because he can actually beat the wicked witch of the east, or the south or wherever she has catpetbagged to this year. A vote for any 3rd party candidate helps the hildabeast and I would not be able to sleep if I did that.

It's become fun to watch Speaker of the House Paul Ryan squirm and slip-slide over his so-called endorsement of Trump. Yeah, Ryan said yesterday, Trump made bigoted remarks about the Hispanic judge, but golly gee, Ryan is still going to cast a vote for Mr. Weasel as president.

Unbelieveable. The Speaker of the House admits he's going to vote for a racist for president. So to answer your question, Mr. Ryan will not respect himself in the morning after election day.

I will in no way assist Hillary in gaining the Presidency. If a vote for Johnson helps her, sorry, can't do it.

You call Trump the most unqualified human to run for POTUS, now you know how I feel about Hillary. I don't think she is qualified or fit to be the POTUS.

When I vote for Trump I will sleep well. When he don't win is when I don't sleep.

If Hillary dies before the election I will vote Johnson. Unfortunately that probably won't happen.

You crack me up!

I have to admit that Trump's yapping about the judge the last few days does not sit well with me. From what I have read about the case, Trump does have some reason to be upset with the judge and he may be biased...but not because he has Mexican heritage but because he is an Obama/Clinton liberal. If Trump would have just said that, I would totally agree. Saying what he said was wrong IMO and was not politically astute.

That being said, all he said was the reverse of what many on the left have said numerous times...when a lib says a black person cannot get a fair shake with a white jury or judge, it is the same thing basically. I don't agree with that either.

Ref, you don't have to wait for Hillary to die. You could still vote Johnson . Your vote isn't going to cost Trump KY.

If you had your druthers, would you prefer she kick the bucket before the election? You are one on here I can always count on for being honest, whether I agree or not.

Yeah but one can be proven while the other one......ehhhh, the jury is still out on that one.

Is it racist when a black defendant questions the ability to get a fair trial before a white judge?

As I posted in the other thread.

The strategy is to muddy up Trump with trash like this to make the multiple layers of dried, old, caked-on mud of the HRC look tolerable.

Go find the equivalent endorsement of HRC as this one:

Character counts.

Character revealed in unscripted moments. Such a realizing when someone is confused and could be embarrassed by the confusion. And they stand there with their fellow man to ensure that does not happen.

This was turning point in support for me. If Trump was the monster as painted here he would have walked by Carson and s smirked by like Cruz and Bush. But he recognized the situation and literally stood by Carson until they were done (well, except for Kasich, that they forgot). That was unplanned, unscripted and revealed the person under the persona.

Trump is also very pro American business and has been. Its not a concocted, calculated political act. Years ago he talked about using American-made, mainly Carolina furniture in his buildings when ever he could. You could tell it was real. And he is pro-business more, much more than pro-central bank - and there is a differnce.

Some view his stance as too 'pro-America'. And it definitely has come off more than harsh at times. But like Lincoln said of the flawed Grant - this man fights.
