Copa America

Too much is on his shoulders. He is Danny Drinkwater, not Mesut Ozil. Let him do what he does. The US desperately needs a play maker in the middle. Keep Bradley to his simple passing, occasional long ball, and getting into the box late.

I don't disagree and Bradley's teammates didn't make it easy on him for much of the game. The players really don't know when to track back to open passing lanes or create space when the midfield gets clogged as Colombia did in the second half when they just sat on that 2-0 lead.

When Pulisic came in late on he was the only one trying (or able) to make those big runs toward the goal area and by that point, Bradley was broken and just couldn't even look for them.

The early goal for Colombia broke the game plan and Klinsmann and his team had no answer.

That's not the 3rd best team in the world.

They are ranked 3rd in the most recent FIFA rankings; if you're better at judging talent and ranking teams around the globe than they are, I'm sure they'd appreciate your input.

The FIFA rankings are questionable at best. We will see how they do the next couple of weeks

Costa Rica and Paraguay play to an uninspired 0-0 draw. That was very helpful. Just win, baby.

Luckily for the Yanks' date=' neither Costa Rica nor Venezuela have the ability to play like Colombia.[/quote']

Got lucky with that. Now if they can pick up a win and a draw out of the next two the US may still have a good shot at advancing. 6 points gets them in almost no matter what unless something unexpected happens.

One thing I noticed last night is they really let them play, lot of physicality out there. I watch a lot of EPL and it's supposedly the toughest, most physical league, and last night would have made it look soft. Lot of play on scenarios and I loved it. Saw plenty of stuff that could have been easy fouls and maybe even some yellows but glad to see officials let them decide it on the pitch.

No fault with the handball. Maybe had it hit the elbow instead I could have seen them letting it go but Yedlin got his hand too far extended and in an awkward position and it cost him.

We were 4th in the FIFA rankings leading up to the '06 World Cup. That's all you need to know about FIFA rankings.

Brazil and Ecuador had a draw. That group is interesting

Didn't see the late game, but I watched that poor dude from Haiti have his Wondolowski moment against Peru. Oh man he's going to remember that time he was unmarked on a free kick in stoppage time and blasted a wide open header six yards wide of goal.

Haiti's best shot at a point and they missed it. Probably 0-fer the rest of the way. Lowest rated team in the tournament.

Embarrassing moment for those responsible for the playing of the national anthems, they played the national anthem of Chile instead if Uruguay.

Ouch!

Mexico looked pretty solid in their win

Uruguay played much better when they were down a man. Does anyone know what their beef was immediately before and especially after the go-ahead Mexico goal? I saw somewhere that maybe they thought someone was offsides, although I didn't see anyone offsides, but their goalie looked like he was complaining about a Mexican player holding him. It got ugly.:idunno:
