Thunder's defense is actually decent - What a twist!!!

If you want to see what is coming in college basketball, you need to watch the NBA. The stuff that happens in games there flow right on down to college because all those college players you love are watching the NBA and copying what they see.

 

In some circles they call it evolution. It's the reason I don't think many of the legends couldn't keep up in the league today. Plenty of exceptions of course.

Well, they haven't been until late. And the thing is, it is a combination of defense and good fortune. Offensively they - even last night - looked dishoveled as they have all season down the stretch. Durant finally made a shot, but it came after he and Russ took turns going iso for the second half of the fourth quarter.

First NBA game I've watched all the way through this year and glad I did. Really enjoyed it. As much as I enjoy watching the Splash Brothers, I am pulling for OKC.

Thunder just seem to be getting the breaks in the playoffs.

Fair or not, I distinguish between refs blowing a whistle taking an additional step and blowing a whistle while dragging the pivot foot in that fashion.

 

The biggest missed call was when Iggy went for the putback dunk, Dion Waiters hacked him, and the Warriors had to take out the ball instead of going to the line for two free throws. No clue how they botched that one.

They're sticking to their guns I suppose. I can't pin point what they're doing so right except getting great effort on the glass by the bigs+Russ, and Waiters is playing uncharacteristically well. Add to that the two best players on the floor on a nightly basis and I guess you have a winning formula.

Huge win for OKC. Puts them in the driver's seat for the rest of the series. Kudos to OKC for hanging around even when they played pretty bad during stretches of the 1st Half. I think OKC winning this first game actually sets this series up to be even better than we expected.

 

I do think that Westbrook and Durant are going to have to continue score at least 50 a night for OKC to pull off the series upset. I think they probably can, Durant wasn't very impressive last night and they were able to.

Westbrook is amazing. Didn't shoot well, was sloppy at times, but he keeps coming.

Even though the Warriors are my team's nemesis right now, the only Warrior I truly dislike, is Draymond Green. He is a jerk.

Durant seems very turnover prone at times. Is that accurate?

 

I didn't get to watch last night, but saw that he had 8 TOs. I don't know how many in game one, but it seemed like he had more than his fair share in that one as well.

He's a half a turnover higher than his career average in these playoffs. 5 in game one. Last night was brutal. Had six in the first half, if not the first quarter.
