Not surprising but Facebook suppressed trending Conservative news stories :

Featured Replies

It would be a heckuva lot better if they buried all political posts.

Well, they missed my timelines because it is loaded with conservative posts. There is no lack of them on mine.

Where's the story? Been going on for decades in one form or another.

It's not timelines it's trending stories.

Control the information and you can sway public opinion. I think thats bullcrap. Change the name to reflect its purpose.

Any person with access to Google can post meme's with unresearched "facts" from non substantiated "sources" as fact, whenever they want into peoples timelines. Which then get read, and shared as "fact" and spread like wildfire. But when Facebook attempts to make sure articles are vetted and posted from reputable sources, or inject relevant, hot stories that are being reported on a national basis, in a section that makes up less than 5% of the web page (that many don't know even exists), suddenly they are controlling what we see and hear. Facebook users have posted and disseminated more garbage news and are responsible for more misinformation than any other source I can think of.

Go take a quick look at your "trending news" section (if you can even find it) and see how many biased "liberal" slanted stories you see. Looking at mine, I discovered Ozzy is missing, Justin Bieber has a new face tattoo, and Ray Lewis and Chris Carter are leaving Espn's NFL coverage team. Hard news with a liberal bias, all day, every day.

Are you saying the former workers are not being truthful?

Neither I, you or anyone has any way of knowing whether they are truthful or not. Whether they are truthful or not, isn't really relevant to what I posted. My point is that I'm not sure that anyone gets any useful news out of their trending stories section (take a look again at the trending stories from my page that I posted), and that anyone and everyone can post the most biased, unsubstantiated, unresearched garbage whenever they want. If Facebook is your primary political news source, you're probably badly informed.

I agree with your last statement.

I'm just not in the habit of automatically thinking someone is being untruthful. Unless they give me plenty of reason, such as Hillary.

I agree....and again, my comments had nothing to do with whether they were being truthful or not. I tend to be a little too trusting sometimes, and usually give most people the benefit of the doubt.

A suprise to me , I get too much conservative and for that matter liberal vitirol on facebook for that story to be 100% true

You are talking about something different. Yes on your personal feed you get posts from friends of all topics. What these former Facebook employees are saying is Facebook would mute topics on their national trending news line. Where Facebook tries to let users know what stories are trending similar to twitter . Two totally different things.
