May 9, 201610 yr Should have swept the Brewers instead a split. Reds have lost 9 games now having the lead after the 7th. If they are 7-2 in those 9 games we would at least like this team. Hopefully pitching gets healthy and they can move some guys around.
May 9, 201610 yr Strictly due to injury. I know hindsight is 20/20, but that deal is looking horrible right now. They guy may never play more than half a season again. Cabrera is the backup. Doesn't insurance pay injury salaries? I'm sure the Reds' premium should be going up, but this kind of deal is less harmful to a team than a guy who gets a deal and then just stinks after signing it. By that same reasoning, Homer has been an OK signing.

Dont quote me that this is 100% right but I remember during a reds game when Votto was hurt years ago that they said MLB allows them to have insurance policies on 5 players on the 40 man roster due to injuries. Teams can pick which 5 they have them on from year to year.
May 9, 201610 yr Well that about sums it up doesnt it. Bullpen gives up a granny in extra innings. Bullpen is / was horrible. That said, don't forget about Barnhardt's error on the pitcher's sac bunt. No need to bare hand that ball with the P running. Scoop with mitt & hand and make the out easily. That cost at least a run which maybe keeps things out of extra frames.
