May 5, 201610 yr Any guesses as to when you have to get to GABP to get 1 of the 25k X-wing bobble heads on SAT night? Taking the wife & fam for Mother's Day! Game at 7:10? If so, get there no later than 6 I'd say. Gates open at 5:40 for 7:10 games, and there's always lines for bobble head games.

I'd be willing to bet that you could still get one strolling in about 6:30 based on the tickets that are still available, but I wouldn't want you to miss out. Any time you are going for a giveaway, I would always recommend avoiding the main gate by the box office unless you are there early. I'd go with the gate next to USBank or the other gate by USBank but down the escalator. Seems like those two always have them well past when the popular gates run out.

Is an X-wing bobble head a big deal for Star Wars fans? Seems like the front office could have done better with the giveaway, this seems like the equivalent of what you would get out of a crackerjack box. Then again I don't know my memorabilia.

The Reds have done a big weekend for the first weekend in May the last 5-6 years, and it's always centered around Star Wars and May the 4th.

All teams I believe do this or at least the Dodgers do, not saying that. Just wondering if that bobblehead is a must have collectible or just being free is the draw?
May 5, 201610 yr All teams I believe do this or at least the Dodgers do, not saying that. Just wondering if that bobblehead is a must have collectible or just being free is the draw? I think with the Star War craze (which is dumb IMO) ramped up in full force this year, they thought they'd capitalize by pretty much guaranteeing a sell-out.
May 5, 201610 yr Cozart SS Hamilton CF Votto 1B Phillips 2B Bruce RF Suarez 3B Duvall LF Barnhart C Simon SP If you are going to bat Hamilton in the top third of the lineup you might as well let him hit lead off IMO.
May 5, 201610 yr I can see some positives in Hamilton at number two. Good bunter. Won't hit into double plays and kill innings. When he does get on base can move into scoring position on his own.

May 5, 201610 yr Yeah maybe in the 9th inning. A lot of other at bats in a game. The logic that he can sacrifice him over is crazy. The Run Expectation with a runner on first and nobody out is higher than it is when there's a runner on second and one out. No thanks.
