April 28, 201610 yr From Mark Davis: "We have made a commitment to Las Vegas and that's where it stands," Davis said. "If Las Vegas can come through ... we'll be the Las Vegas Raiders. I have never used a city as a bargaining chip. This is real." There's no ambiguity in Davis' words, suggesting it's more than just a leverage play. Davis says the team is ready to contribute $500 million if the city approves a stadium plan. If it's not already too late, it's beginning to look like now-or-never for the city of Oakland.
April 28, 201610 yr How hot is it going to be in Vegas in late August and early September? Same as Arizona. An indoor stadium with a retractable roof is the answer. Las Vegas will find the funding, if this is real!
April 28, 201610 yr An NFL team in Vegas would be awesome. I do wonder about a fan base though. That city is basically tourists.
April 28, 201610 yr An NFL team in Vegas would be awesome. I do wonder about a fan base though. That city is basically tourists. That makes it better. Hotels can buy up tickets and package them with a stay.
April 28, 201610 yr That makes it better. Hotels can buy up tickets and package them with a stay. I can't believe I actually like one of your ideas! :lol2:
April 28, 201610 yr I can't believe I actually like one of your ideas! :lol2: Carefull once you like one you start to like them all.
April 28, 201610 yr Vegas would be great for fans of opposing teams to visit. It'll look like those Arizona Diamondbacks or Phoenix Coyotes games where everyone is there as fans of the other team.
April 28, 201610 yr I know they'll keep the Raiders brand, but the Gamblers or even the Snake Eyes has a certain flair.
April 29, 201610 yr I like the move. Oakland is playing around with them and LA isn't a likely destination now with the Rams in town. I have no problem with the Las Vegas Raiders
April 29, 201610 yr Vegas would be great for fans of opposing teams to visit. All their games would be feel like away games...
April 29, 201610 yr I like Vegas better than San Antonio, although I'd prefer they stay in Oakland and work out a deal. If you've got $500M to spend, why not just have Oakland give you that dilapidated stadium and spend your $ on improvements and get all the parking/concessions/etc?
April 30, 201610 yr I know they'll keep the Raiders brand, but the Gamblers or even the Snake Eyes has a certain flair. Kenny Stabler would aprove of the second name for sure.
