We can only hope he's heading off to some far flung corner of the media universe where he's eventually forgotten.

Mass exodus out of ESPN lately, wonder what is up.

Speculation is that some of this is cost-cutting due to ESPN financials.

I am not sure that is the case in this situation. In fact, I find that hard to believe. Same with Tirico. Love or hate him, Bayless is one of ESPN's most recognizable and successful personalities, especially for daytime programming. My guess is he going to FS1 to rejoin forces with Jamie Horowitz. See Cowherd.

Put me with Bug.

I am worn out on Skip but he is better than most of the lot at ESPN.

This.

Looks like it is money. Fox Sports 1 is going to pay him 5M/year. I don't know what he made at ESPN but they obviously made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Skip Bayless doesn't bother me I just don't agree with most of what he says. He does a great job though. I don't see how anyone can deny that. He's made himself into a brand and is making 5M/year now to be an unabashed homer and hater. Can't knock the hustle.

I have religiously watched Cold Pizza (yes, I was the one), 1st and 10, and First Take. He has had this platform for over a decade and has done a solid job. I typically appreciate the spirited debate, but I give him props for his knowledge. He knows his stuff, as out there as he may be.

I am going to miss the show without him. No way SAS hangs around.

Agreed. I feel sorry for the woman host. First Take was probably her current meal ticket. SAS will be all right.

I've definitely gotten to where I like First Take more than Mike and Mike and now it will be gone. :lol2:

I can tolerate Skip but I'm not sure he's worth $5,000,000.

Yeah, that is a ton of money. I wonder if he will be writing for Fox Sports online? Lost in the Skip persona is a very talented journalist. He has been fortunate enough to be around during prominent times of recent memory (SMU death penalty, Jordan's last three titles, Cowboys titles, Bonds homerun chase, to name a few).

Keep hoping Mike and Mike are next but they just. won't. go. away.

They talk about the NFL 90% of the time. And before anyone says that football is what the stats show the public wants, well I understand but it's still overboard on their program.

I totally agree. When him and Stephen A aren't there, the show is unwatchable. Skip does repeat himself a lot, but is good with SAS, don't know about solo though. Why oh why wont ESPN get rid of Vitale or Mike and Mike to name just a few?
