A Saudi family therapist, Khaled Al-Saqaby, released an instructional video earlier this year, in which he gave Muslim men advise on the “correct way in Islam” to “discipline their wives.” The family counselor recommended a three-stage course of action as the safest way in accordance with Islam for men wishing to impose effective discipline on unruly and disobedient wives.

 

The first step in Al-Saqaby’s three-stage action plan recommended for Muslim men with troublesome or rebellious wives is to speak to their wives and admonish them about obedience. But if the woman persists in disobedience, the man should then move on to the second-stage of the three-stage action plan by “forsaking his wife in bed.”

 

Al-Saqaby advises Muslim men to hit and beat their wives only as a last resort. The family therapist suggests “a tooth-cleaning twig or handkerchief” as the appropriate instruments for the purpose of wife-beating. But Muslim men must be careful not to use such physical violence as an opportunity to “vent anger,” but as way of correcting wifely disobedience.

 

Al-Saqaby was at pains to explain that one of the major causes of disharmony in marriage which often leads to men having to beat their wives was women seeking equality with their husbands. Women seeking equality with their husbands present a grave challenge to matrimonial harmony. Some troublesome women actually provoke their husbands by hitting them and then daring their husbands to hit back, according to the family expert.

Is this really a surprise to anyone? It is well known women are treated like crap in Islamic nations. As more refugees from Islamic nations come to the US, we have to stand firm that this will not be tolerated in our country and if anyone wants to say by doing so we are being intolerant to them, GOOD!

Yep. Because we don't have a problem with domestic violence in this country. You never hear about men smacking around their wives/girlfriends, and children are rarely abused. Statistically, only about 1 in every 4 women in the USA suffer from domestic violence...that's a number we can live with right??

Again, I refer to the common theme of how we should discipline our kids. The "spare the rod", and "we didn't get timeouts, we got whoopings" stuff you see on social media. How is that different from this video that was posted??

 

Again, violence against others is not a Muslim only issue. Just like one KKK video shouldn't be used to condemn all Americans, this video shouldn't be used to condemn all Muslims.

Spin it how ever you want, but the treatment of women that is CONDONED in Muslim countries is not condoned in the US.

 

In nearly all cases if you resort to violence in this country to solve a problem, you are going to jail. People may advocate for violence in the case of murderers, rapist, pedophiles or others due to emotion related to their crimes. At the end of the day Americans will allow the process to work and those people get locked away there is no longer vigilante justice. Comparing someone wanting to see a child rapist get what's coming to him, again is much different than CONDONING Domestic Violence.

 

If it was only one video I would agree, but this is by FAR not the first report of women being treated this way in those countries.
