April 20, 201610 yr Mo Egger @MoEgger1530 2m2 minutes ago Reds are more than midway thru a month where they've had a bad bullpen, rotation in flux, and best hitter not hitting..and they're over .500 Pretty absurd when you think about it... Smoke and mirrors!
April 21, 201610 yr What??? Obviously I'm not savvy to what this is. If Votto was taking a leak, plantman would be checking out his junk from one urinal over... :idunno:

April 21, 201610 yr Don't we always hear "notorious slow starter" every year? With Votto? No. Last season, Votto hit .317 with a .423 OBP in April. He did have a "rough" May (.253 AVG, .349 OBP). For his career, Votto is batting .303 with a .421 OBP in April. Looking at his career numbers, August is probably his best month over the course of his career. 159 games (fewest of any month sans October): .307 AVG, .441 OBP. It's actually amazing how consistent Votto's numbers are.

April 21, 201610 yr Last year Votto raked for sure, BUT we were 30 games out with no pressure. He can not and will not play when pressure is present. Around all star break when we are 25 games behind Cubs, Votto will bat 500. I think he says the right things but does not want to be a part of this rebuild, so move him along if someone wants him. In playoffs he may pass out in the box from pressure of performing. If this was Jay Bruce people would have already went crazy. Reds are 8-7 and would be 10-5 if he was doing anything at all.
April 21, 201610 yr He's raked his ENTIRE CAREER!! What planet are you guys on? Out of active players in the MLB he has the 6th best career average. Out of active players in the MLB he has #1 in OBP% by a mile. Out of active players in the MLB he is 7th in Slugging %. Out of active players in the MLB he is 3rd in OPS. The fact that you guys are freaking out about him over 15 games in beyond absurd. And just for fun he's top 20 OF ALL TIME in MLB history for career OPS.

And one of them thinks he's a bear with a green penis.

April 21, 201610 yr This chart seems good. Is that good? Credit - @jluckhaupt Vic Wertz at #9? Wow, you could ask a million well-versed baseball historians to name their top ten, and I seriously doubt anyone would have him in with the other guys.
April 21, 201610 yr @Clyde - if game had stayed at 3-2, who would have gotten the win? Iglesias? Wood?
