Golf Pet Peeves

Another Pet Peeve of mine...when you buy a brand new box of golf balls and they are all faulty.

Hit the ball dead straight for 225 yards then boom it hangs a hard right into the woods...figure that's a bad ball so I tee up another one. Same thing dead straight then turns right into the woods. It seems in the average box of balls I might get only 1 or 2 that aren't defective and will go straight.

I always seem to find those faulty balls in the woods as well. They don't go straight for me either.

I hooked up with an older gentleman the other day for an impromptu round of golf. The 3rd hole runs parallel with a highway. As we stood in the fairway preparing to hit our approach shots a funeral procession began to pass by. The older gentleman pulled off his cap, placed it over his heart and remained that way until the entire procession had passed by. As he put his hat back on, I told him I thought he was very classy to show respect that way, his response was "I was married to her for 40 years, that's the least I could do".

Never, ever give another player unsolicited golf swing advice!

Don't mind so much if you are good, but if you suck and you are slow, throw my patience with you out of the window!

I hate being paired up with anyone. I would rather not play golf as to be forced to pair up with someone

Dang you old grouch, is it time for your Geritol tablet?:lol2: I don't mind and have been paired up often especially since I show up to play by myself most of the time wherever I go anyway. Have met some really nice people that I highly enjoyed playing with, have paired up with some real "sticks in the mud" guys that the round couldn't get over quick enough. But, it's all a part of it and can make for some good stories. Have a funny story where I was paired up for 3 deaf guys a couple summers ago...makes me laugh just to think about it.

That's just not my thing. When I golf, I want to relax and just enjoy the day. I don't like having to worry about chatting with strangers.

This, I don't really care if you are bad and can at least advance the ball and keep up a normal pace.
