Blake Bortles? Teddy Bridgewater? Marcus Mariota? Jameis Winston? In a heart beat they would. If they think they can get a franchise QB they take the chance.
April 14, 201610 yr The rumor being floated yesterday was that Philly was looking to make the plunge that the Rams took. I can't get over Jeff Fisher moving up to draft a QB. So un-Jeff Fisher like. I wonder if this was an ownership decision to make a splash? Philly just a year and a coach late on the jump...

April 14, 201610 yr These trades make the NFL even more interesting if that is even possible. The Titans are huge winners in this, if I was in charge of the Titan draft I would be ecstatic. On the Rams, if their number one QB becomes a star in the NFL they are winners too.

With the Rams trading away their entire future like this, they are just going to be Cleveland 2.0. I don't think it's their "Entire Future" the Rams have a solid team but QB was the glaring weakness. Now if they can trade for or sign a decent WR they could be really good in a year. Rams this year have one of the 5 hardest schedules...so I already wasn't expecting playoffs this season. If this QB turns out to be a quality starter I think the next 3 to 4 seasons after this one could be good for the Rams.
April 15, 201610 yr So the Rams have made Cleveland's pick easier, or did they? Suppose the Rams pick the QB Cleveland had rated at the top, does Cleveland go for their second rated QB? In other words, are the top two QBs both worthy of being picked this high in the draft? If Cleveland does not think the second QB is worth the #2 pick they then have the option to take the best available player, someone like OT Tunsil (placing him opposite Joe Thomas would help the o-line depleted by FA) or DB Jaylen Ramsey or LB Miles Jack (despite his injury). They could trade their #2 pick--I think they will have plenty of offers--and accumulate more picks since they have so many needs. I think they take the other QB. Who knows if they and the Rams have them rated the same. They may get their top choice despite the Rams pick. I have read reports on the "top draft gurus" and they are divided as to whether Wentz or Goff is the top QB. Today, I read a report where someone actually said Paxton Lynch is the top QB! They cover all the bases with their stories and have no more idea who is best than do the esteemed guessers here on BGP. The Browns are in an interesting spot, not one that they failed to anticipate. They still are sitting pretty to have a great draft, supposing the current regime is better talent evaluators than the previous regimes have been (that's not too big an "if" is it?).

Redskins with RG3, Saints with Ricky Williams, Vikings with Hershal Walter, etc. giving up a boatload of Picks for one dude never works out. 2 first rounders and 2 2nds is likely giving up 4 starters over 2 years for 1 QB that played at one of the Dakotas...

Giants got: Eli Manning 2004 Rd 1 Pk 1 Chargers got: Philip Rivers, QB 2004 Rd 1 Pk 4 2004 3rd-round pick (Nate Kaeding, PK) 2005 1st-round pick (Shawne Merriman, OLB) 2005 5th-round pick (traded to TB for Roman Oben, OT) Giants seemed to recover giving 4 picks for 1...they have 2 rings to show for it. Hopefully the Rams giving 6 picks to get 3 picks is something they can recover from as well.
