Republican Convention Predictions

Featured Replies

It is looking like an almost certainty that the Republican convention will be a true convention and not a coronation. No, that is not my prediction.

My prediction is that if guns are somehow allowed into that convention that someone will be shot.

I highly doubt we will ever find out if that prediction is right because I see no way they allow guns in there and for good reason in my opinion.

What predictions does everyone else have for the Republican convention?

Trump will end up running as an Independent because they follow the rules in place and nominate someone other than him.

Prediction #2:

Both Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will attempt, and fail, to become the party nominee.

Romney certainly seems to be angling for that but Paul Ryan does not want it in my opinion.

I think Trump blows Cruz out of the water in New York and Pennsylvania and marches on to the nomination. Even though he may not get the required number of delegates he will be so close that they have no choice except to nominate him.

Ryan said last week "get my name out of your mouth" :lol2:

It will be extremely interesting to see what Trump does after the first vote. He may pull immediately in protest and run independent.

VOR, no guns. Party leaders already decided against that. Just fisticuffs this year .

Trump will not step aside at the convention after the first vote. He will play the process out. Some states require their delegates to remain committed even after the first vote so he will not drop out after the first vote.

If Trump is any indicator, it will be must watch television. I don't know who is in charge of the programming, but it is usually catered around pumping up the party's nominee. How does that work now? I can assure you Trump will do everything to get his air time and loom over the circus.

Prediction #2:

Both Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will attempt, and fail, to become the party nominee.

So who will it be?

A contested convention will not help the fractured Republican Party, however it will get "The Candidate" the establishment intended to have all along, thereby negating any votes made in good faith by the voters. The Republican Party has used Ted Cruz to get their contested outcome, however once the convention begins they will drop him like a hot rock. Then their Darling will get the nomination on who knows the 3,4,5,6,7,8,9, or 10th ballot. Who is the establishment's Darling, several "deserving" possibilities. Whomever that becomes, will ultimately get Hillary elected. I actually heard a Republican on TV the other day say, he didn't care who won so long as it wasn't Trump. My question becomes, what is going on in Washington DC that is so secret and hidden from the voters, that these two parties would throw in together to protect themselves and defeat Trump?

I guarantee this prediction: It will be must watch TV

l have posted this before and will post it again in this thread. The problem the Republican party has with Donald Trump is he is unelectable. They know if he is the nominee they will lose in the fall and they fear they will lose more than just the presidency. That is why they are working so hard to get someone else.

Cruz is not the someone else either because he is even more un-electable than Trump. Romney would lose worse than those two because he would be seen as party shenanigans. Paul Ryan would win hands down but he seems adamantly opposed to being the nominee.

Remember 1968 and the world is watching? I fear the R's, like the D's, will have the same outcome in November.
