Montrezl Harrell Involved In Scuffle (Shoves Official)

Video: NBRA condemns Montrezl Harrell for shoving referee | SI.com

In a statement on Monday, the National Basketball Referees Association called for the suspension of Rio Grande Valley player Montrezl Harrell after he shoved an official during an NBA D-League game on Saturday.

Following the final possession of the Vipers’ game against the Bakersfield Jam, Harrell charged in for a rebound and became tangled up with Derek Cooke Jr. Cooke shoved Harrell, who responded by throwing a referee to the floor.

I don't really understand what caused Cooke to push Harrell in the first place that led to Harrell shoving the official.

Second time for him. Got in trouble during the WKU game last year.

He didnt care who he was pushing, However games they have left this year would be a good suspension for him.

Surprised to see this in the college basketball thread, since Montrezl Harrel no longer plays college basketball and this incident did not occur in a college basketball game.

He's never reacted well in those situations. When you play with that kind of fire, you're susceptible to being baited by another player.

Mod can move if it they want. After I hit submit, I thought of that myself, but then justified it with thinking that more eyes will see it here lol.

I wonder if something was said earlier in the game or what. Seem to escalate rather quickly for the other guy to shove Harrell for that little amount of contact.

It was a very sketchy game throughout. Very heated and plenty of cheap shots and talking.

He has a bad temper. Always has. I'm honestly surprised this hasn't happened before.

I'd say he'll be sitting for quite a while.

3 games left in the regular season plus playoffs.

He'll be suspended into next season, I'd imagine.

I always liked Harrell and wanted to see him do well.

How successful would Ben Wallace be in today's NBA? That's who Harrell reminds me of.
