Nancy Winstel will not be the next coach at BBHS. I can confirm that.

Brossart did talk to Nancy Winstel, and we would have loved to have had her. She does attend some of our games and has worked with several of our players individually. However, she does not want to make the commitment.

 

I ran into Nell Fookes recently and she is gloriously happy in retirement, and not ready to jump back into a full-time coaching gig.

 

A problem is that we have no teaching openings, which limits our choices.

Scott Code had a daughter coming up in five years but is not ready to make the jump from the boys side and has withdrawn from the discussion. I'm sure that Kevin Bundy is a viable candidate if interested, BUT he does a GREAT job for us on the boys side coaching our bigs and Mike Code would hate to lose him.

I do think we will see the "big guy" (Willie Schlarman) down at Highlands back on the sidelines at some point in the future, but a rebuilding girls gig is not what he has in mind. He is living the dream with his wife and two young'uns right now.
