If all Kickoffs are eliminated it will mean a 9 point lead late in the game is almost impossible to come back from, since there can't be an onside kick attempt if there is no kick at all.

If they are going to get rid of kickoffs why not go ahead and make a 50yd FG worth 4 points and anything over 60yds worth 5 points.

If we are going batcrap crazy might as well go all in!

That's why I don't think they'll get rid of kick offs. The idea is to make returns not worth the attempt. This move should reduce the number of returns while still keeping the onside kick option available. Messing with the scoring is not relatable to trying to make the games safer.

Kickoff returns are exciting, but they are dangerous. I'd say very few teams at any level even practice kick offs live in practice anymore because of the high possibility of injuries.

I'd much rather have a game with fewer kickoff returns attempted than no game at all. This is about making the game safer and preserving it.

I'm not opposed to a touchback resulting in a starting spot of the 25 yard line.

Most pro kickers can squib a quick to the goal line. That's what will start happening.

In youth football you can choose to make the team kick or take the ball at the 30. Crazy, IMO, for the pros to do something similar. Pretty soon you're going to have to play with 12 guys on defense to keep the scoring in check.

This isn't similar. Kick offs are still part of the game. All that's changing is where the ball is spotted after a touchback on the kickoff. And while it will likely decrease the number of returns, it's not really going to change the way the game looks or plays all that significantly. Nowhere is anyone talking about keeping scoring in check. This isn't that huge of a deal.

Here's more... Horse Collar is now anything nameplate and above. I'm assuming that would mean the jersey around the shoulders too. My thing is, you can't hit high and you can't hit high. Where they supposed to hit?

Horse collars and hits are two different things. Horse collar type tackles are dangerous, and extending them to the jersey above the nameplate only makes sense. Again, not a fundamental change in gameplay, and it makes the game safer.

I'm happy to see the horse collar rule changed/clarified. That has been a point of confusion for many over the years. Too me, the new rule is more simplified and should thus be easier to call/interpret.

Hair pulling still legal?

Hair pulling still legal?

That's a good question. The new addition to the rule specifically points out the jersey. Since hair was never included in the old rule , especially if the hair hangs below the nameplate, my guess is hair pulling is not outlawed.
