March 24, 201610 yr Haven't been relevant in almost 15 years, no reason to suspect that will change. Not even with Richt?
March 24, 201610 yr If rict keeps the local kids from leaving Miami will rise again. What can Richt present, to keep the kids from Miami in Miami, that Jimbo can't?
March 24, 201610 yr Not even with Richt? I think within 3-4 years he can have them competing again but he has the man up in Tallahassee he has to battle with for recruits. That's a tough job in itself.
March 24, 201610 yr What can Richt present, to keep the kids from Miami in Miami, that Jimbo can't? FSU has alot more to offer than the U in terms of facilities, etc. However, Miami is home to many of these players. Making a decision for Jimbo over Golden or Shannon is easy. Making that same decision over Mark Richt, seems to be much more difficult.

Are you completely sold on Jimbo? I know he has a title but doesn't some of that credit go to Winston? He's had one dominant year, and a bunch of really good years. I don't think its like having to fight with Saban or Meyer is what I'm saying.

While I will agree that it does get more difficult with Richt in terms of staying or leaving, but it's hard for a kid to pass up what Jimbo has done in terms of developing and getting to the NFL. Richt has had his fair share too, but the success FSU has had the last 5 years I think still sways alot of them. I'd like to see them be good again. The FSU/Miami game needs to be brought back to life.

Yes, Jameis gets alot of credit also, but Jimbo knows how to get it done. His recruiting classes that last 3 years speak volumes about that.

May 1, 201610 yr I think that Richt makes a splash quicker than some are thinking. I don't think things are going to change overnight by any means, but I think he gets them back to being more successful than they have been in quite a while. He always got really good players at Georgia, but lost his fair share of games that he shouldn't have. I won't be surprised if he ends up landing a lot of the talent out of Miami from a recruiting perspective.
May 1, 201610 yr If rict keeps the local kids from leaving Miami will rise again. Doesn't Richt just have to get one-third of the good-to-great players in the immediate Miami-Dade area to make The U great? What can Richt present, to keep the kids from Miami in Miami, that Jimbo can't? It allegedly takes 7 hours to go from Coral Gables to Talahassee. I would think not having your people have to drive 7 hours to come see you play would mean a lot.
