Used to really not like the Canes but always liked Georgia's former coach so I guess I will now cheer for the Canes.

I'm also interested on what changes have been made or will be made for the Hurricane program. They could become that powerhouse program again.

They have a solid recruiting class coming in.

I always found the U to be fascinating. On one hand, upper level ivy league want to be school, on the other, Warren Sapp, Mike Irvin, etc.

Michael Irvin Jr will be a Freshman.

Just found it ironic that most of the people cheering for the U in the glory days would have been tazed if they ever tried to walk through that campus. If they didn't play their games in the Orange Bowl those stuffed shirts on campus would have had a coronary.

Actually, Miami is one of the finest academic institutions in the country. Their medical school is on par with the likes of Duke and John Hopkins. They have an excellent law school. However, it's a small private school, more like a Notre Dame, less like a Florida. You just get the impression it's a big school because of it's football program. Beautiful little campus, though.

Exactly. If you know anything about the U itself and Coral Gables, you knew the convicts vs. catholics stuff was sheer lunacy. There aren't many thugs walking the campus in CG.

Love the U, but Richt has his work cut out for him. Lots of talent, but lots of holes as well because of depth.

Richt seems like a good guy. Hope he does well at UM.

Casey Weldon's son is a QB who just committed to the Canes.

Including fake photos of their stadium on gamedays lol Miami Hurricanes Photoshopped image going viral

They may report 40,000 a game, but I've been there twice, and both times the place was empty, not even half that number. UM draws better in Tampa than they do in Miami, anymore. Most of their fan base is not in the Miami metroplex.

I'm not sure building a new stadium closer to campus will do the trick, either. Even the old Orange Bowl was half empty in 2004, when I was there.

Their motto recently has been "It's all about the U". Fraid not. It's all about winning. This is Miami, not South Bend, not Columbus, not Gainesville. If they are not winning, and doing so consistently, the fans would rather head to South Beach. It is what it is.

Nailed it! "It's all about the U" really doesn't hold much with the kids today because most weren't alive long enough to remember it if they were alive at all. They've got to start with something different. They have fallen into mediocrity and seem to have accepted it. Maybe Richt can pull them out of the hole they've dug.
