May 1, 201610 yr Doesn't Richt just have to get one-third of the good-to-great players in the immediate Miami-Dade area to make The U great? It allegedly takes 7 hours to go from Coral Gables to Talahassee. I would think not having your people have to drive 7 hours to come see you play would mean a lot. That could be a possibility. But would you, if you were being recruited by both FSU and Miami, want to play on Saturday's in front of 80,000 fans (FSU) or 20,000 fan (Miami)? I think its obvious what the kids would want and it has shown the last few years.
May 1, 201610 yr Haven't been relevant in almost 15 years, no reason to suspect that will change. The biggest problem for Florida and even Florida State along with Miami is that the other big schools realized how much talent is in that area. IMO that was a big part of the drop off for Florida schools the last two decades.
May 4, 201610 yr Richt has a pretty good QB to work with in his first year, likely be a first round draft pick this year with a chance at number one in Kaaya. I can see as high as ten wins the lowest I can think is 6-7, but there's multiple winnable games on that schedule.
May 5, 201610 yr The biggest problem for Florida and even Florida State along with Miami is that the other big schools realized how much talent is in that area. IMO that was a big part of the drop off for Florida schools the last two decades. Those three schools won six titles in the last two decades, including every title Florida has ever won. Shorten it to the last decade and it is still three titles. They've still done OK. However, I do agree that other big schools really stepped it up in Florida recruitment.
May 11, 201610 yr Interesting to see a road game @Appy State. I hope cthey show well @ND. They've embarrassed Miami recently.
