Forecasted velocity bottoms out Friday at 2mph. Still pretty fast. Predicted to go up to 2.5 by Monday. A lot of times the river current is controlled by what rain is up river and how much they release thru the dams. Shocked they couldn't slow it down for a few days to help the rescue.

I've been driving the middle lanes ever since this tragedy. More time to react, and more space between me and those 39" walls. And I'm being a lot more cognizant of what vehicles are behind me and on my sides.

Honestly, the drunk drivers and heroin addicts scare me more than the mary jane smokers(who slow down, then speed up, then slow down again).

I cited both of these in my post. I see no difference marijuana and heroin, both are illegal at this time and are the scourge or curse of the peoples of the world. Driving under the influence is dangerous to us all.

Just checked stage and forecast It hits a low of 2.15 MPH today (28.6'). Shoots back up and peaks at 2.45 late Saturday (29.2').

Not sure when they will be able to pull the car out.

Unfortunately, you can't do much about the yahoo who appears out of no where coming up from behind.

Not to derail the thread, but there is a huge difference between marijuana and heroin. Nonetheless, your point that impaired/distracted drivers pose a danger to everyone is valid.
