March 23, 201610 yr On the topic of coaching and open jobs....How in the world do Brian Gregory, Bruce Weber, Josh Pastner, John Groce, Richard Pitino, Johnny Jones, and Leonard Hamilton still have jobs? Pastner's buyout was in excess of $10MM and will be north of $8MM next year. If they exercised the buyout it would be the riches buyout for a coach ever in college basketball. Not to mention that Memphis is not a power conference school, which makes that difficult to swallow. One other thing there is a not an offset agreement in his contract so Memphis would have to pay the full amount of the contract even if Pastner found another job. In other words, it was just to much swallow at this point.
