Trinity 52 St. Xavier 48 (OT) (7th Region Championship)

Featured Replies

Thought Padgett was on the Regional Title team - guess not. Tough way to lose missing FT's with your best shooter - but once Trinity switched to man X could barely make a pass, making OT easy for Trinity.

X may have had the best player but Trinity had the best team. There can be no question about that.

How can you say that? They split 2 games. Trinity should not have won either game. St. X out played Trinity the entire regulation last night.

How can you say that?

Because they won?:idunno:

Nice rebuttal.

You can be torqued about it if you want. But the beauty of it is that the best team is the one who wins and advances. Same could have been said for Ballard in the recent past. Many said best team, but couldn't make it out of the region. St.X was sybil this year. Some great wins, and some head scratchers. How's that for rebuttal?

Scoreboard.

Fact.

How about best in 8th? Owen? Done

How about best in 9th? CovCath? Done

How about best in 14th? PCC? Done

So best is a relative term with regard to advancing in the tournament.

Obviously not. Had that been true, they would have won in regulation...

Finally someone with some common sense.

Ah, this is the IF season. You know, IF this we would have (fill in the blank)

Lots of woulda, shoulda, coulda's goin around this time of year. U dont have be the best team to win in a one and done format, just gotta be better on that particular night. Thats what the postseason is all about and why its the best time of yr. Otherwise it would just be the nba playoffs

Merry Christmas to the Shamerocks !!!!

I saw two teams that left it all on the court. No shame in that. It is a shame that some fans can't see that. Please enlighten us.

Who's still playing? If X would have had ANYONE to help McKim they would have won. They got 14 points from the rest of the team combined. Basketball is a team sport. Down the stretch Trinity got contributions from several players, X did not. If X was the better team then how do they lose a game if as you say they outplayed Trinity the entire regulation? I'd debate that statement. Trinity played better the first quarter and the first half of the second quarter. Harris' silly T stopped that and still Trinity led at halftime. X clearly outplayed Trinity the in the 3rd quarter but I'd say that Trinity clearly outplayed X the 4th because they overcame the deficit and forced OT.
