March 7, 201610 yr She was certainly a strong influence in her husbands administration. She was a pitbull when it came to him. RIP.
March 7, 201610 yr I'd say it's sad but , hell, 94 years is a long, productive life. I applaud any and all in the public life who take stands. However, I never had a warm feeling for Mrs. Reagan. Not sure why. She and HRC are about the only two I'd say that about.
March 7, 201610 yr Shame that it took a liberal to post a thread about the beloved wife of their GOP GOD. What's up with the righties? Be nice. If, God forbid, President Obama or one of his close family members "bought the farm", I'd at least wait a few weeks before criticizing. He is our President and his family is still "first family".
March 7, 201610 yr She was certainly a strong influence in her husbands administration. She was a pitbull when it came to him. RIP. That she was. I could argue(but I probably won't bother) that her influence on his administration was the strongest of any First Lady on her hubby's administration.

He is our President and his family is still "first family". I agree, you would. You are a very likeable conservative and that's hard to find. Just one of the reasons I am so fond of you. To be fair, though, I have not been critical of the former First Lady. In fact, I have said more good things about her than 99% of the people on this forum, who have been noticeably silent in their praise. I mean it took a liberal to even start a topic about her.
March 7, 201610 yr I do like strong women who speak their mind in support of other women, even if it goes against the party line . Ms Reagan endorsed Hillary Clinton several months back. Here was her exact quote: “The time for a woman to serve as our President has come – really, now is the time – and I think the idea of having a former First Lady as the leader of the free world is really quite a marvelous notion. I want Hillary to win. Even though I admire two of the current potential Republican nominees, I have no interest in seeing either of them lead this country.” I appreciate those honest sentiments, Ms Reagan. RIP

RIP I assume a savvy political operative like yourself knows that quote was a hoax...right?
March 7, 201610 yr I assume a savvy political operative like yourself knows that quote was a hoax...right? I'm not as savvy as you, but, no, I read the quote that she supposedly said to her son. No further research, though. Too many calculus papers to grade. I wouldn't doubt one bit that she would have voted for Hillary.

March 7, 201610 yr I am a bit embarrassed. Before yesterday's news, I would have sworn that she passed away a few years back.
March 7, 201610 yr :lol: Obviously not, in his haste to exploit the fake comment he started a thread about it. At least I have you poor souls offering up your RIP's to the dear lady. Without me or mcpapa's gentle nudging your silence would have been deafening by now. Pitiful.

I guess you really have been blinded by science, as your avatar suggest, if you didn't realize that quote was a farce from the beginning. :lol2:
