March 7, 201610 yr Some UK fans, the ones other teams fans hate, are also hated by UK fans as they are unreasonable and have no concept of reality. This Calipari ride won't last forever and anyone that's not enjoying it while it's happening, will really be depressed when he leaves and the next coach doesn't match his success. They won't be depressed. They like the idea of recruiting mostly KY kids. They like the idea of recruiting players that probably won't sniff the floor until they are juniors because they worked hard to improve. They'd prefer having a team full of those kids and fighting to make a Sweet 16 every year and barely be in that national conversation. Depressed? I enjoy watching college players come in as Freshman and leave as Seniors not the one and done crap. See? I should have finished reading the thread before I responded. Exactly what I'm talking about.
March 7, 201610 yr Maybe it should be WKU#1fan. That would work for a whole lot of people I can assure you of that but I'm sure that real WKU fans would learn to hate it with your negativity toward your favorite team.
March 7, 201610 yr I played against him in AAU ball. He could be a good division III player at best. But if I were in his situation, I'd probably make the same decision for a variety of reasons. Best of luck to Brad. The bolded.
March 7, 201610 yr Calipari only cares about his self. He doesn't care about the University of Kentucky. Taking up a roster spot that could be a nice post player that can rebound and play defense. Not a fan of daddy ball.
March 7, 201610 yr I just read about this in the Lexington Herald he is going to walk on. So when did walk ons start deciding where they are going to walk on.

March 7, 201610 yr Thought you had to make the team. My assumption is the bulk of walk-ons, especially at the higher up levels, have a connection with the coach, university, donors, etc. I am not sure how many, if any, schools have open tryouts for walk-on spots.

March 7, 201610 yr That should be against NCAA rules. So you want to legislate who schools don't give athletic scholarships to? That makes 0 sense.
March 7, 201610 yr I just read about this in the Lexington Herald he is going to walk on. So when did walk ons start deciding where they are going to walk on. Guess you've never heard of preferred walk-ons before. They happen all the time. NKU has had plenty of them.
