Collins 56 Simon Kenton 54

No other way to say it other than it's a bad loss for SK.23-7 after 1.

Once Collins started pressing man-to-man in the 2nd half the game changed. SK is a really long high school team but they're not quick nor strong with the ball. I really like the Fries kid. Needs more touches on the block.

I thought one huge momentum swing was with about a minute left and SK up 14 the big for SK (name escapes me) caught it under the basket and tried to go up and dunk it. He's not explosive enough though and missed it. Collins takes it down and hits a 3 going into the half down 11 instead of potentially 16.

Even though it was still a double digit lead, I must tell you I felt uneasy after the 5 point swing.

Mike, I very much appreciate what you do with Pegasus sports during the year and especially during the regionals.

Huge FT by clarkson with 3 seconds to play to force OT. Especially after missing the first one.

What was SK thinking holding the ball waiting on the last shot down 2???? Thanks coach!

Curious, I don't recall the timeout situation, and I hope that the way that played out that he simply didn't have one, but do you think that was the plan? To hold the thing? It appeared like they had no idea what set they were gonna run.

Had no timeouts left, and give Collins credit their man pressure forced everything further out in the floor. The PG weakness definitely rared its head again on SK, the lack of having someone that could lower their head and attack the rim also was obvious. SK shot only 3 FT's because they did not attack at all.

On the other hand Collins lived in the lane, and at the rim. Great game to watch.

Collins wins in OT. Tough season SK. The Pioneers played tough tonight.

Don't surprise me.

From what I have heard, Racke would have been the best player this year had he played. That makes it tough when your best player decides not to play. Was him not playing for football reasons? With SK being the largest school in the 8th region you would think that at some point they would win the 8th but that has yet to happen.

The best players at the school are the starting 5. Fries, with his size and strength, might be the best tight end at the school but he doesn't play.

He spent all day Tuesday throwing up with a stomache bug. Usually would get that dunk with ease. Still can use some work on foot speed and strength though.

Workouts start next week with Legacy Training.

Ugh. Stomach bugs on gameday are never good.

But good for him on the work ethic and good attitude to improve weaknesses! It will pay off. At his size, if he can improve those things further, he can be dominant.

Felt bad for the SK kids but they froze in that last 40 seconds. They thought more about being the one to miss the last shot instead of being the one to hit the last shot. I would have liked to seen them throw the ball into Kelch and take my chances. He was effective in the second half scoring.

Like so many other SK teams playing in the Regional, they played not to lose from a point in the second quarter through the rest of the game and it caught up with them.

Have to agree with Col Mike; the moving screen call in regulation was probably nails for SK. I didn't see it but there wasn't any argument from bench. The one call that I didn't like was the foul with 3.8 in regulation. That was a tough one.

SK's 11th trip to 8th Region Tourney and still no title.

BGP says 56-54, KHSAA says 54-52. Which score is correct?

I am proud of Coach Steiner and the Pioneers they never gave up and played well in the district tournament and 8th region tournament.

SK loses 2 starters and 3 Seniors in Fries, Sammons and Morrison they had great careers at SK and I enjoyed watching them play for SK. SK will at least 5 Seniors next year and should have a good team. SK will return key players next year 6'2 Cottrell, 6'6 Hawkins, 6'3 Kitchens, 5'10 Murray and 6'8 Kelch.
