Final from Powell County

I don't know how many Whitney scored tonight. I listened to the game until UK -Florida game started.

Creech had 59, per Lauren Cash.

She rarely scores on 3 pointers. Most of her scoring is from drives to the basket, pull up jumpers, and free throws. She's a scoring machine in the mountains.

I would love to see them make it to the state tournament.

They next play the host school, Powell County. The Lady Pirates are 16-10. Jenkins is 17-14. The two schools didn't play during the season, probably because they are located about as far as it gets in distance between schools in the 14th region. My guess would be at least 130 miles, maybe more. The 14th is a big region.

Wow.

I just googled it to take the guessing part out of the answer. The official distance is 125 miles from Jenkins to Stanton.

Per Google Maps: 115 miles; 2 hours, 7 minutes driving time

Creech was a 6th grader the last time these 2 played?

I saw two google quotes. One said 115 and another said 125. Regardless it's a long way on a school bus.

Had no idea the region was that big. Makes it sad that some schools in other regions chose not to play each other in regular season and they are only miles apart. (Not calling out school just saying in general)

I know voting for ms basketball has already taken place, but hypothetically how many more votes do you think creech would have received if she marches her team to sweet 16?

Side note I think it is wrong decision to have voting prior to sweet 16

Gotta be a disadvantage having to travel that far before and after games. Hopefully if they win Friday they will stay the night for the championship game.

The entire process for choosing Mr. And Ms. Basketball is a disaster.

Yikes!!!!! One advantage for NKY teams 27 high schools between Boone, Kenton, & Campbell counties.....and the the furthest drive might be 25 minutes.....most 10/15 minutes.
