Not in the very near future. I can tell you from my experiences with both Dale and Brian that the latter is much more conservative not only in his approach, but fiscally as well. I pointed out several times this year that Brian really likes the idea of playing the big schools in the area if for no other reason than to help cut down on the travel costs. IMO as long as Brian is in charge you will see them play all NKY big schools along with the district games. They will then pick up one or two teams either downstate or across the river to challenge them in preparation for their ultimate goal of winning state titles.

They should put the SK/Highlands game on TV so SK can put a running clock on them and everyone can see it.

Well damn... It was fun seeing those Florida schools come up and watch on ESPN. But either way, it's still Highlands, and we all know what that means.

I could see a few losses against the 6A teams, with their current schedule. It's still hard for me to tell if last year was proof that NKY 6A is truly improving or if Highlands just happened to have a down year.

 

Either way, Highlands will re-orient themselves and continue to perform well against their class. Cov Cath might challenge them, but otherwise I see no problem in them getting at least to the semi-finals

While the FL games were fun and Elder/Colerain/St X were great atmospheres, I really enjoy the local NKY slate. I have a lot of family and friends scattered around the area and it's just a lot of fun to go to the games with them.

It's not an either or situation; it was a combination of both. SK has greatly improved, Cooper is building something nice and Ryle looks to have the pieces to get back to where they were a few years back.

And what week of the season did your boys from Independence finish their season? Oh that is right, the same week that the boys from Highlands did. Your act gets old my friend. Let me know when Simon Kenton wins something in football other than a regional championship or better yet a NKY championship.

 

Your envy for the Highlands program and the kids that play in it is off the charts. Seems you have a Jeff Ruby type complex with the kids from Highlands.

Regardless of how "great" or "bad" (tongue in cheek on that term) Highlands team is I think it really benefits Northern Ky. that they play a regional schedule. From an outside perspective I also think it forced 6A schools in the area to really "step up their game" knowing that in order to win a state title at 6A you have to be able to compete with Highlands. Playing Highlands also is a great draw because like it or not when you play Highlands it is always a focus on the schedule for players and fans. Honestly, they are the equivalant of playing UK in basketball or Notre Dame in football.
