Yawn.

Ok what about the defense that is where the players you guys mentioned should be going both ways. The defense gave up alot of points against the good teams and had some very good athletes. Murray is a solid running back but is a beast linebacker. JV did good last year but they were JV for a reason.

Well address it. Their best d-lineman graduated, but they do return Bravard. Sexton was a pleasant surprise last year, but he was a senior. The linebacking corp might be the area that is most concerning. You graduate 3 of the 4 that started and their backups were seniors. Bowden played very well after making the switch just prior to the bye week. The defensive backfield should be pretty solid in my opinion. Beal graduates, but Greene and Taylor played excellent at safety, the first after being moved from WR and the second after being given a chance to play. Rust returns at corner, but Crosley New also returns from injury. This group should be pretty solid.

1 lineman and 1or 2 linebackers. That is why i said they need to bring some of those offensive players over to Defense as well. You have to have good push and solid linebacker play to be competitive. I am just not seeing that out of this group.

They lost there center Richardson who benched 180 40 times in ryle's lineman competition. hebel one of best lineman in state. Kendall RB a couple veteran receiver. Robinson DL Daugherty solid linebacker and one of best kickers in state and beihl solid Safety. So no they will not be as good as they were last year. 500 at best. I will be very surprised if they getpast Cov Cath this year.

So based upon who they lost they will not be as good as last year. Based upon your argument I would say that high school sports (all high school sports) are all just on one long negative trajectory, because every year you lose players who the previous year were better than those returning. Makes perfect sense.

Not exactly sure that is what was being said, but whatever. Since this thread has been allowed to remain open, how about some discussion on the actual topic that is obviously of interest to some.

Does anybody think spring ball will help this team? It seems like the more practice you can get the better you can become

Spring practice can help in a lot of ways. Can help you find areas of weakness that need to be addressed and it can also allow you to experiment with a lot of things as well.

Spring ball will be good for many of the underclassman to get acquainted with big boy football as far as contact, etc. I know of one sophomore to be who has put on a lot of muscle/weight since last season and is itching to get the pads on. With that said, he will be introduced to a new brand of football.

Who is that?

What position does he play

DB, led the Freshman in Int's this past season with 8 I believe. Ball hawk and more heart than I have seen of a kid in the last 10 yrs of watching kids play football. A little undersized but has consistently been gaining weight and getting stronger. Bailey Armstrong
