Highlands picks a QB???

Featured Replies

Drumroll please.....

Here is what I have been told.

Dale has decided to go with Cecil at QB and move Draper to wide receiver.

I suppose this really shouldn't surprise me or anyone else, but I must admit I personally was pulling for Jay.

Can anyone confirm this?

Uh...nope. ;)

Is this relation to the other Cecil Qb?

Oldbird,

Either one of them can be an added plus at the WR position regardless of who gets the nod. The Birds looked a little soft at that position in the scrimmage last week. Seemed to be waiting for the ball to come to them instead of going up and snatching it.

As far as Cecil being the starter from what I saw I thought he was more of a threat to tuck and run. Draper seemed more like a drop back passer with a nice arm. Regardless, I think the focus will be on getting Jordan his 20+ carries and grinding out yardage and possession time.

I watched practice last night , Jay looked very good playing wide reciever for the short time of playing this position. He's a good enough athelete to play there and I heard that he will be playing there against Male this Friday.

So will Jay be taking the JV snaps or will Guidugli / Turner be hashing it out???

I think this is a smart move by Coach Mueller. I think either QB is very capable but I like the idea of getting both players on the field. Also, I understand Guidugli is now the varsity back up and I thought Guidugli looked good in the scrimmage against Beechwood.

I thought the same....Guidugli looked smooth and had a lot of poise. He may be the next Gino.

I like the fact that HHS will not have their 1 and 2 QB in the same grade. That happened last year and left the Birds with absolutely no experience at that position this year.

Well, I thought both would be good QB's and whoever starts I guess they will have a great backup if needed
