February 18, 201610 yr I can't think for the life of me why I attended a Charlie Daniels concert once(@EKU). I do remember there were a lot of rednecks waving Confederate flag in attendance. I also remember him being really, really fat and really , really bad. The opening act(who I had never heard of) was much, much better than the Republican redneck. If this is the time they came to EKU around 1973 I was there. I remember my roommate worked part time at the Mule Barn at EKU's Arlington Golf Course. Charlie and his band and entourage were served dinner at the barn and he was a waiter. He said he hadn't been around a smellier, stinky bunch as that group. His deduction was they had skipped a few showers for some time, lol. Every time I've seen the Charlie Daniels Band on TV since then I think of what my roommate said about them and wonder if they've showered for that day. :yuck:
February 18, 201610 yr I doubt it. They've not toured in several years. I've been told theirs is one of the priciest tickets out there.

February 19, 201610 yr Weirdly enough, the day this story broke I had worked at the bar, and "Uneasy Rider" came over the in-store music. I don't even think he plays that song in concert anymore, sadly.
