February 16, 201610 yr Another note: Back in the '70s we used to load up two vehicles and my buddies and I would head out to Riverfront 5 or 6 times each season to see the Reds. Nowadays I don't know many mountain counties that have that kind of support for the Reds. Many of the young people I talk to around town and our golf course are fans of the Cubs or Braves, not the Reds. Those two teams were on TV nearly everyday beginning with the early cable days, and those were the teams they they grew up with. When I was a youngster my county was solid Reds through the good years and the bad. Times sure have changed.
February 16, 201610 yr How many fans show up from July 5 and on? Depends on what bobblehead is being given away.
February 25, 201610 yr 6 teams close to 100 loses, how bad is MLB baseball right now. Baseball is great right now. Tons of young talent littered throughout the sport.
February 25, 201610 yr Baseball is great right now. Tons of young talent littered throughout the sport. That apparently suck, otherwise teams would not have 100 loses.
February 25, 201610 yr That apparently suck, otherwise teams would not have 100 loses. 19 teams with winning records versus 11 with losing records. You are always going to have losing teams regardless how good the league is. Same in football and basketball. A few teams suck but the vast majority are predicted to play winning baseball this year.

Teams would be more average.
February 25, 201610 yr Correct but if there is all this talent, there wouldnt be teams with 95-100 losses. Teams would be more average. Look at how many NFL teams lose more than 10 games each year and the NFL is built for parity with each team having the same payroll budget. It's amazing with baseball's finances there aren't more 100 win teams and many more 100 loss teams.
February 25, 201610 yr I once learned that every team will win 60 games, and every team will lose 60 games. What you do in the other 42 is what determines the season. Sounds like for the Reds it will be 1-41. Ouch. I don't keep up with Cincinnati like the other Red's homers on here, but 101 losses seems like too many. Edited February 25, 201610 yr by bugatti
February 25, 201610 yr And the Cubs just re-signed Dexter Fowler... I really like Fowler a lot. So he'll be in CF and Hayward can play RF. Looks like Schwarber will be in LF and occasionally catching, with him becoming the primary catcher in 2017. I look for the Cubs to move Baez or Soler for a young quality, controllable pitcher.

We'll give you Homer Bailey. :D
February 25, 201610 yr Correct but if there is all this talent, there wouldnt be teams with 95-100 losses. Teams would be more average. 6 divisions. Each with a division winner that will win 95-100. It stands to reason the last place teams will loss 95-100. As far as talent, the worst guy on the worst team, is a waaayyyy better than 99.9% of the world.
February 28, 201610 yr USA TODAY is saying that the Cubs will be 11 games better than every other team in baseball except St Louis?? Not buying that at all. Other teams will win more than 90 games besides Chicago and St. Louis...
