February 10, 201610 yr Reports are out that Gov. Christie is suspending his campaign. Who can benefit from this? Kasich? Bush? Someone else? Edited February 10, 201610 yr by Voice of Reason
February 10, 201610 yr It was a long shot, but I am kind of sad. He was my favorite candidate. I think he would have been our President had he run last go-around.
February 10, 201610 yr Author If Rubio does not regain his footing, Christie's legacy in this race is he is the man who brought down Marco Rubio. I am amazed that moment in the debate had so much impact on Rubio in New Hampshire
February 10, 201610 yr Christie should have run last cycle, you are correct. He had enough of a following then that he might have had a chance. I had admired his attempt to keep the mud slinging directed at HRC this election but believed the mess with the bridge had tarnished him as a legit candidate.
February 10, 201610 yr Christie sealed his own fate when he took his sweetheart stroll on the boardwalk with Obama back in 2012.
February 10, 201610 yr It was a long shot, but I am kind of sad. He was my favorite candidate. Same here. I would have been absolutely fine pulling the lever with Christie on my ballot.
February 10, 201610 yr Author Christie sealed his own fate when he took his sweetheart stroll on the boardwalk with Obama back in 2012. First time I have heard that mentioned by anyone in this entire campaign. Do you seriously think that is what sealed his fate?
February 10, 201610 yr It was a long shot, but I am kind of sad. He was my favorite candidate. Same here. I would have been absolutely fine pulling the lever with Christie on my ballot. I am with the two of you. I didn't think my vote for him would have mattered in KY but was strongly considering giving it to him anyway.
February 10, 201610 yr First time I have heard that mentioned by anyone in this entire campaign. Do you seriously think that is what sealed his fate? Yes. That cast him as a moderate.
February 10, 201610 yr First time I have heard that mentioned by anyone in this entire campaign. Do you seriously think that is what sealed his fate? Yes. That cast him as a moderate. I actually think it hurt him as well. No proof or article stating as much, but people find the dumbest things to dislike a candidate for. Wouldn't shock me one bit.
February 10, 201610 yr Author If a public appearance with the president in the midst of a disaster is a politician's downfall, this country is becoming more hopeless in my eyes.
February 10, 201610 yr First time I have heard that mentioned by anyone in this entire campaign. Do you seriously think that is what sealed his fate? I've heard it a number of times. I can't, for the life of me, figure out why people get so upset at Christie about that. His home state was LITERALLY a disaster area following a hurricane, and President Obama was there surveying the damage in order to assess how much federal assistance would be required for the recovery. I know that if my house was destroyed by a natural disaster, I would damn-sure be extremely grateful to anyone who offered to help me rebuild...democrat, republican, socialist, communist, bull moose, or wig. I think the fact that republicans get their panties in a wad over that whole thing goes to show how readily they will completely shoot themselves in the foot just to puff out their chests and thumb their noses at the democrats.
February 10, 201610 yr Reports are out that Gov. Christie is suspending his campaign. Who can benefit from this? Kasich? Bush? Someone else? Owners of all you can eat buffets in South Carolina. (This joke is beneath me, I should not press submit. But I'm gonna.)
February 10, 201610 yr If a public appearance with the president in the midst of a disaster is a politician's downfall, this country is becoming more hopeless in my eyes. Completely agree. Wasn't this referenced in earlier Republicans debates as subtle jabs by other candidates against Christie? I could have sworn it was but might be wrong.
