Where is Mike Yeagle?

Featured Replies

Some earlier indications had Coach Yeagle landing at Dayton (but not coaching). With school ready to start; Does anyone know where he is or what he may be doing?

I heard Dayton again just the other day and this person (second hand but from one of Coach Yeagle's relatives) claimed Coach Yeagle would be coaching baseball at Dayton.

I have always maintained we won't know where Coach Yeagle has landed until the first day of school/practice/etc.

I have also heard that he was going to be teaching PE at Dayton and coaching baseball.

No football seems kinda wierd for a guy with as many chamionships as he has.

Not really, I think Coach Yeagle needs some down time.

I'm not discounting the wisdom in his decision, just that a coach of his stature not coaching football at all, and coaching baseball instead is kinda wierd. Not that he won't do a great job, just wierd. His face is in the dictionary under NKY Football after all.

He's earned it. Like Kevin Costner said in Field of Dreams, "leave the man alone, he's done enough."

Wow. When I think of sage advice, Kevin Costner does not immediately leap to mind! :D

I wish coach Yeagle the best, he was always a stand up guy as a coach in all sports. I hope he can get the Devil baseball program back up and running, I know they had some problems a couple years back with kids not coming out.

If anyone can do it, Mike can.

:thumb: Do you think? That might be an understatement..:jump:

Should Lickert be looking over his shoulder if things do not go well? I would like to see Lickert given every opportunity to succeed without the community calling for Yeagle to take over. After all, Dayton is vastly different than Ft. Mitchell.

I don't think he should be worried. He has made great strides in his brief time at Dayton, and I would like to see him improve on what he's started. There can never be enough competetive teams in NKY.

He is one man that I would have loved to play for or coached beside of!

This is personal opinion (and nothing more):

Coach Lickert shouldn't be looking over his shoulder. I think that Coach Y. would leave Dayton (if in fact--he is going there) before he would go through a situation like that. I just don't think he is real interested in things like that to begin with. If the community goes in that direction--I think that Coach Y would do one of two different things:

1. Leave Dayton

2. Make a statement along the lines of "you have a solid, young coach--everyone should spend more time trying to do their part to help the program instead of getting rid of a solid, young football mind".

Again--straight up opinion.

On a different note--I have heard the Dayton thing. And it was presented to me like it was going to happen. (I have heard 2 different versions of the baseball situation--I don't know which one is the truth--so I won't comment).

I personally wonder what is on Coach Y's mind right now as football gears up. Hopefully he knows that there are a few of us thinking about him. It will be strange without him. Hopefully--we can do him proud.

I think that there will be a time when Coach Y gets back into it. And when he is ready--I think his opponents will be in trouble.
