Has Beechwood played HC or CovCath?

  • Author

No not yet

CCH Jan 29th

And HC the next week

Also, for those who didn't see, Beechwood also won the freshman game. There is even more talent in the 8th and 7th grade classes at Beechwood. This was a huge program win for Beechwood tonight. All those young kids now have proof they can get big wins while playing for Beechwood. A very bright future ahead for the Tigers.

That's if they stay at Beechwood. :whistling:

1967-68 season opening round win of District play...lost to Holmes in regular season. I was less than a year old.

Beechwood at CovCath Fri Feb 5

Holy Cross at Beechwood Sat Feb 13

As long as Beechwood's Football/Baseball players are choosing to concentrate on those sports and not playing around with Basketball the basketball program can be successful. As far as the younger kids staying at Beechwood, you are not dealing with the Beechwood you have always known. Moving out of NKAC Div III has made a huge impact in the improvement of the BB program at Beechwood. As far as BHS basketball History, I got you, something VOR would not understand.

And that is why this win was so big for Beechwood. It is proof that big wins can happen at Beechwood if they stick together.

Danny Goetz and Donnie Robbins would have both been Sophomores. Larry Miller and Stretch Clark, Hub Hood, Hank Eddy and my mind has gone blank!

Take it away brother. I don't claim to be the authority on anything, not even football. I just fill in my views and knowledge where I have a view to share.

Question for you - in the past 10 years, how many baseball/football players have played around with basketball? I don't think there have been very many but you probably know better than me.

So did the 8th grader Caleb Jefferson play well tonight in the varsity game?

Jefferson won't be at Beechwood next year though, from what I've heard.

Congrats to Beechwood. Holmes looked uninterested for most of the game in my opinion. Did they want the 4 seed, who really knows. Maybe BW is just better. Think Markel McClendon was scoreless at halftime. Holmes down 6 with 4:30 to go and in a 2-3 zone? Beechies run off over a minute of the clock. Beechwood made 2 shots outside the paint area all night, both 3's in 2nd half.

Credit the Tigers coaching staff and Ben Toebbe. Kid was impressive against the interior defense of Holmes. He was also a machine at the foul line.

Holmes stats

McClendon 16 pts

Moore 9 pts

arnold 8 pts

Beechwood

Ben Toebbe 28 pts 10 reb 13-14 from the line

JT Toebbe 8 pts 10 reb

Ben is the younger brother

Thanks. I messed that up in my post above.

Don't think he is playing varsity
