August 1, 200620 yr I apologize, you are correct. I went back and read the whole thread and I obviously was so distracted by the deadline trades that I didn't follow the line of posts that well. So, let me restate,,,we should have traded Larue, Steve Stewart, a box of JTM burgers, a monopoly game autographed by Chris Henry (of course minus the get out of jail free cards) and a case of big league chew to Chicago for Maddux. :thumb: :thumb: Now you're talking...

August 1, 200620 yr Loser: Jim Bowden. He can spin it any way he likes now, but when Alfonso Soriano signs with the Yankees this winter, Bowden's failure to trade him could cost him his job. Make that should cost him his job. :thumb: :thumb: I agree 100%, Bowden imo is just trying to cover his butt now for screwing up and not making a deal.
August 1, 200620 yr Just to be clear, I didn't post that Marty was going anywhere. Steve Stewart is the one "rounding 3rd and heading for home." I'm pretty sure Marty is safe. :thumb: :jump: Do you want everyone the Reds' pickup to fail? Now Lohse is doomed by the HSSRB avator curse. If he falters too, it'll be almost as bad as the Madden curse. :irked:

August 1, 200620 yr It's obviously a Reds jinx... I guess Madden, Sports Illustrated, Campbell Soup, and I have something in common then. Maybe I'll go ahead and put Junior up there to hasten the inevitable.
August 1, 200620 yr I would add the Red Sox to the losers category. I'm happy with what the Reds did, adding Loshe is a flexible move because he'll be in the bullpen if Claussen or someone else hangs up or is injured. This little nugget of knowledge impressed me courtesy of the Enquier... Reds general manager Wayne Krivsky has jettisoned the young pitching Dan O'Brien traded for. He has gotten rid of Bubba Nelson, Josh Hancock, Germano, Dave Williams, Chick and Allan Simpson. Jung Keun Bong left to go back to South Korea.

August 1, 200620 yr Put Larue on there, what,,,is he gonna dip to .095? He is so bad the reverse polarity of a jinx may actually help him. His badness ( ) is immune to any jinx.

It was a great thing for most of the year. Why you tempted fate was the only question I had. As soon as you put up the new guy, he was horrible. At the same time the old guy started to come back to reality a little.
