Tim Haworth was coached at a five-star basketball camp by Tony Campbell (best I could do from reading Haworth bio), Tony Campbell was coached with the LA Lakers by Pat Riley, Pat Riley played basketball at UK under Adolph Rupp, and Adolph Rupp was coached at Kansas by Phog Allen who was assisted by and learned the game from the inventor James Naismith (Someone may be able to do better with the Haworth to Rupp connection, but once you get there, the Rupp to Naismith connection, through legendary coach Phog Allen, is all you need. )

Update on the first 5 connection challenges

All 5 have been attempted. (2) and (7) are very close but use 7 people rather than 6. Remember the two people you are trying to connect count toward your 6.

(1) Carson Williams (Owen County) to Kobe Bryant's 81 point game - completed by @se7ens.

(2) Scott Ruthsatz (Cov Cath Coach) to Red Auerbach (Celtics Coach) - almost complete

(3) Tommy McKenzie (Johnson Central Coach) to Jerry West - Complete

(4) Quentin Goodin (Taylor County) to Michael Jordan - almost complete

(5) Tim Haworth (Hoptown Coach) to James A. Naismith - Completed by @petemitchell

This is a really cool idea.

I'll add one:

Tyler Bezold (Covington Holy Cross) to Dennis Rodman

1) Bezold played against Nick Ruthsatz 2 years ago in 1st round of district + during regular season

2) Nick Ruthsatz played with Quentin Snider in KY vs Indiana 2014 all star game

3) Quentin Snider played with D'Angelo Russell on the Louisville Magic AAU team in summer of 2013

4)D'Angelo Russell currently plays for the LA Lakers with Kobe Bryant

5) Kobe Bryant played against Michael Jordan 02/01/1998

6) Michael Jordan played with Dennis Rodman

Very nice work. I had Haworth connected to Rupp through Pitino through Mark Starns of Union County (who was a staff member with Pitino at the Celtics). Very nice work.

You could probably even take out Jordan as Kobe likely played directly against Rodman like he did Jordan. If you take Jordan out then thats 6 people and that is a very cool connection.

Very close, but dont forget to count Goodin as you first. This setup has a 7 person connection currently. Is there anyway you could eliminate just one?

Goodin (1) played for St Louis Eagles (2) where Tyler Hansbrough (3) played. Tyler played at UNC (4) where Dean Smith coached (5) who also coached Micheal Jordan.

Not sure that is how you play but a guess at it.

Goodin(1) played for Indiana Elite (2) where Cody Zeller (3) played who now plays for Charlottle Bobcats (4) owned by Micheal Jordan (5).

The first one works if the same person coached Zeller and Goodin. You must connect one person to another through 6 people using a basketball contest (see the original example). Do you know the coach of Indiana Elite name when both played for them? Good connection and very close.

Here's another one for Carson.

1. Carson plays against Grant County. D. Guffey is an asst coach for Grant.

2. Guffey played for Sam Alford at New Castle In.

3. Sam is the father of Steve Alford at Ucla.

4. Steve played at IU against Purdue and Coach Gene Keady.

5. Keady was an asst. coach for the Raptors in Kobes game.

As well someone mentioned rodman and Kobe. Rodman played with the lakers late in his career.
