Jumper_Dad Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Thought I would start a thread separate from nWo's updates and forecast threads to discuss what we are seeing currently around the state. We can update what we are seeing as the storm moves through, add photos or video and discuss current conditions and not clog up the prediction threads, which serve a great purpose in alerting us to what is coming/predicted for the state.
Jumper_Dad Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 Somerset 1/20/16: looks like we got between 4" and 5" in the city, today. Snow finally stopped around 2 p.m. All Schools cancelled for Thursday.
TheDeuce Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Anywhere from 3-4" across the city in Louisville. Main roads were completely clear by early afternoon today. Side roads are still snow covered and will probably stay that way through the weekend.
rockmom Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Anywhere from 3-4" across the city in Louisville. Main roads were completely clear by early afternoon today. Side roads are still snow covered and will probably stay that way through the weekend. My street is 1 block from the Merriweather facility. While I wasn't here to see it happen, I heard we were the first cleared.
Bengal Maniac Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 We got around 2" in the metropolis of Covington. I have no idea how the roads are, because my butt stayed inside today. My street is horrible still, but it is basically a subdivision that is a dead end street, so not a priority at all for the city.
BigVMan23 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Between 3-4" here in L'burg. Just got in from church, roads refreezing.
JDEaston Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Maybe an inch here in Ashland today. Apparently the city road crew's took today off though as the roads are worse than they usually are if we get a foot of snow.
Jumper_Dad Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 Ice coating on everything this morning...direct quote I heard was that there aren't enough wreckers in the county for all wrecks right now. One wreck involving multiple semis has one highway blocked and the city fire dept has at least on treacherous street completely blocked and closed down. In short, snow fall on top of this ice will be welcomed.
Jumper_Dad Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 We have about an inch or so on top of ice now...by all accounts roads are the worst anyone can remember in this area. Hopefully snow will help. Ice sucks!!!
JDEaston Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 No snow in Ashland, I think we dodged the bullet. What a relief.
TexasRanger Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Snowing at a good clip in mt sterling. Im getting a bad feeling.
spindoc Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Nothing here in Crestwood yet, headed to take the dog out to the vet for his checkup.
True blue (and gold) Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Traffic cam out of Bowling Green looks crazy.
