At least you can admit to eating crow! A lot of folks on BGP and not on BGP would never admit they were wrong regarding Drew's capabilities at the DI Level. .

Hand raised.

Thrilled for his success.

I thought he would do well.

NEVER did I think he would do this well, this soon.

And this is the same Oakland that almost took down then #1 Michigan St? Pretty impressive win for Norse.

Anyone know how bad McDonald's injury is?

Someone told me it was back spasams, not his knee. Supposedly he has been fighting minor back problems all year.

I thought he would do well.

Based on the times I saw him play in high school I don't think the naysayers realized the little things he does. He seems to have a great "feel" for the game, much better post moves than people think, and can use either hand equally well. He doesn't do anything spactular like slam dunk so he doesn't "impress" like some others, but when all is said and done he is very effective. Hope he keeps it up.

Post play is where I thought he would struggle.

I felt like by his JR year, after getting into better shape, he would do well. He is so good fundamentally and has a huge frame. It is scary to think about how much better he'll be once he changes his body comp and reaps the rewards of the added athleticism that comes with it.

I readily admit I thought John's system of wanting to play fast and run and jump on defense was a bad fit. Kudos to Drew for playing at a very high level, and kudos to John and his staff for putting him in a position to succeed.

Always root for all of the NKY kids at the next level.

Are Drew's minutes coming at the expense of another former NCC great Jake Giesler? His production seems to be down this year?

Yes and No. Billups is the Post defender and the offense at the basket but foul trouble and fatigue (remember his heart problems) often means some time on the bench. McDonald is more of an offensive threat so, depending if they need a scorer on the floor, he would get the nod. Also NKU has played Billups and McDonald at the same time as Drew does have some range. Rarely do they play Billups and Geisler at the same time. Geisler is more of a defensive replacement for Billups.
